St Andrew's Church Review

A European-style church located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, has a century-old history, the architecture is simple and beautiful, with European colors, is a great place to punch in and take pictures.

St. Andre's Church is located in one of the most prosperous places in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, 138 Nathan Road. The place is big, there is now a Mandarin class, there is a cafe on the ground floor.

The Christian Church is located opposite the Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station. It is conveniently located. The church is built in European style. It is also a place to check in.

The church is adjacent to the former Kowloon School for the Young Children, which was once a gathering point for British residents in Kowloon. During the Japanese rule, the chief priest was imprisoned, and the church was converted into a shrine for Japanese Shinto, and the priest's residence became a residence for shrines and Japanese intelligence personnel. The Anglican Church restored St. Andre's Church to the Christ Centre next to the Church in 1979, and the Pastor's House was converted to official use. St. Andre's Church is now a Grade II historic building in Hong Kong.

The site of St. Andre's Church was built in wood for a long time, and the stone church was built in December 1904, with a donation of HK$35,000 from Sir Paul Chadd. The building was completed in 1905 and opened in October 1906. The neighbouring chaplain's residence was completed in 1909, and the workers' residence was completed in the following year. St. Andre's Church was built in 1913, but was rebuilt into a seven-storey building in 1977.
