Tansitong Former Residence Review

Yu Tong, one of the six gentlemen who changed the law and martyrdom during the Guangxu period, has two former residences, one is the former Hunan Liuyang Hall in Beijing, and the other is the "Doctor's Di" in Liuyang.

The former residence of Yuantong is located on Beizheng South Road, Liuyang City, Hunan Province. It was built in the end of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally surnamed Yuan Yu, and the main building covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters. It was bought by Yuan Xueqin, his grandfather Yuan Xueqin (formerly Liuyang County Yuan Xueqin) as a private place. Qing Xianfeng nine years (1859), with his father, after the examination of the advanced, the official to Hubei governor, because of its prominent status, the order to name his house as "the doctor's official residence", so the former residence is also known as "the doctor's first."
