The Temple of Debo, a 2,000-year-old building, was moved from Egypt to Madrid and rebuilt meticulously. The temple, formerly on the Nile River, was threatened by the construction of a dam. UNESCO issued a call for endangered cultural relics. Finally, the Egyptian government thanked Spain for its assistance in protecting the temple. The Temple of Deborah, which opened to the public in 1972, is one of the few cultural relics that can be seen outside Egypt. Spain maintains its original orientation, from east to west.
