Tapemen's history can be traced back to 1296 when King Menglai of the Lana Dynasty built Chiang Mai City. Tapei Tha Phae means "where the bamboo raft goes ashore" and refers to the gate outside the East Wall near Wat Saen Fang, Sacred Square Temple. Tapemen is now rebuilt in 1985-1986 based on historical records, including photographs taken in 1899. Feeding pigeons in Tapeimen Square is really interesting. You can snap a beautiful picture of the pigeons staying in your hands by gripping the crushed biscuits between your fingers. Haha, I'm so happy.
