Other than the unforgivable heat, the place is a pleasant location booming with many tourists. Nice food and local products can be found here.

The Dutch Red House, located on the banks of the Malacca River, was built between 1641 and 1660 and is the oldest Dutch building in Southeast Asia, built by the Dutch colonial government at the time, using red bricks specially shipped from the Netherlands, so commonly known as the "Red House". Originally built, the church was the seat of government for more than 300 years, until 1980 it was converted to a museum in Malacca, containing historical artifacts from Malay, Portugal, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. However, it is also said that the exterior walls of the building are red, including the ancient Christian church built in 1753, and the red bell tower built in 1886, are part of the red house.
