Tianmen Mountain Cableway Review

I am impressed with the nature and scenery. There are pros and cons though.Pros: amazing scenery and wonderful nature. The Management did an excellent job in managing the crowd and traffics. There are a lot of staffs to make sure you are safe.

The cableway is 7,454 meters long and the height difference is 1277 meters. It is the world's longest alpine sightseeing passenger cableway. The one-way operation time is about 28 minutes. The local slope between the station and the upper station is even higher than 37 degrees. It is rare in the world. It is the largest local slope in China and the most bracketed cableway. There are 98 cars and 57 cableway brackets (including 3 ambulance brackets), all of which are imported from Europe. The original sky garden in the center of Zhangjiajie is one of the "four wonders" of Tianmen Mountain Tourist Scenic Area.

Tianmen Mountain Cableway is the world's longest single-line circular alpine passenger cableway, long 7,454 meters, high difference 1277 meters, one-way running time 24 minutes, can take tourists from the modern city atmosphere directly into the green embrace of the original sky garden. The Tianmen Mountain Panshan Highway, known as Tongtian Avenue, is less than 11 kilometers long, but the altitude has increased sharply from 200 meters to more than 1200 meters, as many as ninety-nine bends, which can be called the world's first highway spectacle.

There's no way I could give this less than 5 stars especially given the fact that the day I went, the weather was absolutely gorgeous! you gotta go here 10/10 would recommend! When you get to the gate, you get your ticket and are assigned to either line A or B - it's the the same route but done in opposite ways so as to avoid overcrowding (I got assigned line B). You start by taking an escalator up to get on the cable car that takes you up to about 3/4 of the mountain which has breathtaking views as well as the route to get to the "Gate to Heaven" stairs . Once there, you have the option to either climb the 999 stairs or buy a separate ticket to take the very long escalator up to the top (that runs through the mountain). With the line B ticket, once you're at the top of the stairs you go up the transmountain escalator that takes you to the top of 天门山 (Tianmen Mountain) where you can enjoy many more trails and breathtaking views (and stop for lunch!) Once you're done, head to the cable car station to bring you down but not before getting a special ride through the city itself. There's a shuttle bus that will then bring you back to the 天门山gate ...a great trip to take !!
