＂ Yingxiu Earthquake Site ＂ is located in Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. At 14:28:04 on May 12, 2008, a massive earthquake of magnitude 8.0 on the Richter scale occurred in Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County, because Yingxiu Town was located at the epicenter, with great losses of personnel and property, and the beautiful and prosperous Yingxiu in the past was almost razed to the ground. This is the most destructive, widest-range, worst-loss, and most difficult-to-relieve earthquake since the founding of New China. After the earthquake, the victims of the earthquake area began work of earthquake relief and reconstruction of their homes with the full support of the people of all ethnic groups in the country, and now Yingxiu welcomes guests from all over the world with a new appearance. In order to commemorate and mourn the compatriots who died in the 5.12 earthquake, the state has designated May 12 as the National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day since 2009. In May 2013, the ＂5.12 Wenchuan Mega Earthquake Memorial Hall ＂, located in Yingxiu Town, opened.
