Yuan Heng Temple Review

Not the kind of temple that has been more than a hundred years old, but like religious monasteries in other parts of Taiwan, there are so many people who burn incense and worship, and it is also kind and welcoming to tourists like us.

A magnificent Buddhist temple is not an old building, but it has a large area and many devout believers. There are many different Buddhist statues and halls. When we came here, there were not many people, but it was very quiet.

Yuanheng Temple is situated on Shoushan Mountain near the sea in Kaohsiung. It was first built in the eighth year of Qianlong (1743) in the Qing Dynasty. It is a sacrifice to Guanyin Bodhisattva. In 1972, it was expanded and a great hall was built to offer sacrifices to five Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, such as Sakyamuni Buddha. There are 3,000 Buddhas around the hall. There are also reliefs showing Sakyamuni Buddha on the inner and outer walls of the hall, which are highly artistic. Whether it's a magnificent old temple or a magnificent new temple, it's a valuable cultural heritage and worth watching carefully.

Daxiong Palace, built in the Republic of China in 61, is dedicated to five Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, such as Sakyamuni Buddha. There are 3,000 Buddhas around the palace. There are also reliefs on the inner and outer walls of the palace showing the life of Sakyamuni Buddha. On the top floor, Sakyamuni Buddha is dedicated to three saints and ten thousand Buddhas. The old temple is simple, and the new one is magnificent and magnificent. It is the largest temple in Taiwan.
