Trattoria Malatesta Review

All of our dishes - caprese salad, tagliatelle dela casa, and pizza Leonardo - were delicious. The service was professional yet friendly. It was a delightful evening to sit outside and overall, this was an excellent restaurant to enjoy a break from several evenings of Spanish meals.

The small fried dough sticks are so crispy, with hot chocolate, it is not a problem to show off a plate alone! Locals will drink this hot chocolate directly. It is recommended to go early, not only will you line up. #Local specialty snacks

Everything about our evening here was superb from the welcome from the staff, the quality of the service, which was patient yet attentive and most importantly the food - incredible! Whether it was the freshness of the pizzas, the flexibility to cater for fussy eaters but the gnocchi was out of this world!

The food was great. The staff was very kind. It was my birthday and they celebrated me with a free meloncello and dessert.

Excellent value, delicious options when you need non-Spanish food in Madrid. We sat outside on a pedestrian alley, less pleasant than inside,but our choice to reduce COVID exposure. Our waiter was very prompt and helpful, and our food was delicious--eggplant parmesan, spaghetti carbonara, homemade ravioli, tiramisu etc. House red wine was very good and a steal, and all the correct ingredients that belong in the Carbonara were there ( no inauthentic items like cream). Most pastas are made in-house, the wood fired oven puts out good looking pizzas, and all our meal spoke to a good, well priced Italian trattoria. Recommended.
