Gastro Sentral Review

We were finishing a month long stay touring SE Asia and finished staying out at the airport in KL for a full day. We took the express train into the centre and found Le Meridian hotel just in good time for lunch. As it was a Sunday some of the restaurants were closed and the buffet looked too busy for our tastes - so, by default, we ended up in Gastro Sentral....lucky us as this was just wonderful. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had asked got a birger without the bun - it arrived deconstructed on a wooden platter and each element was cooked well and tasted divine. My wife opted for the cod and she indicated that the fish was tasty and also beautifully presented - she had asked for this to be oil-free and sauce free and that was just the way it came! Well done waiter and chef. We finished with an amazing Eton Mess. The meal was superb and the ambiance very relaxed - an ideal way to finish our holiday as we headed back to the airport.

Decent variety on the menu, particularly finger food and drinks. Pleasant ambience too, laid back yet classy. Found a bit of plastic in my chicken soup and this was very professionally dealt with by the manager.

After trying out Prime, Latest Recipe, and Favola, we had our lunch here at Gastro Sentral. Overall very good - the people, the service, the atmosphere, the deco, and the food! Love the 22-hour Braised Wagyu Cheek. Foie Gras Burger is good (even better if it comes with more apple slaw) ~ Can't wait to come to try their brunch soon !
