Affectionately knew as the "Marvelous city" among locals, Rio de Janeiro is indeed a spectacular sight to behold. Founded in 1565, Rio has risen to become one of the most famous cities in Brazil, and was in fact the capital of this far reaching country up until 1960. There are a lot of iconic features associated with Rio, of which the Christ The Redeemer statue perched overlooking the city might be the most striking. Another popular Rio feature, is the annual Carnival celebration. One of the biggest and most eccentric parties the world over, Carnival is just before Lent, and is tolerated by the within the Roman Catholic Church as a get-it-all-out-of-your-system new party. The natural landscape around Rio is spectacular, with numerous peaks surrounding their unique harbor helping it to land a spot on the list of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. There are dozens of historic and modern attractions throughout the city, although it's still advisable to steer clear of the faults, or slums. Still, if you are looking for fun and excitement, this city is part of the best such options in all of South America.
D31***61We made our way to The statue of Christ by using public transport first we bought a ticket at the Metro and there is a connecting bus that will take you directly to the cog tram. The cost was substantially cheaper than using a need to and also you are not limited to the amount of time that you spend up at the top of Christ the Redeemer
D31***61this is a must to do experienced for anybody who comes to Rio de Janeiro. Best to make your own way there and buy a ticket otherwise your time will be limited up on the top of Sugarloaf

悠游麦兜The Ladder Cathedral is located on the Chilean Avenue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The style of this Catholic church is completely different from the traditional European architectural styles with ancient history, which is known for its elegance and magnificence. The whole church looks like a reinforced concrete from the outside. The pyramid has a staircase-like channel design on all sides, reaching the top, just like a staircase leading to heaven.
The interior style of the church is full of modernity and fashion. The dome is marked with a huge cross in the form of a glass skylight, and white glaze is used on all sides to pass through the dome from the ground. The center of the building space is a huge one tied to a golden cross. The statue of Jesus above, the whole building is open and simple.
When we arrived, it happened to be here at the inauguration ceremony of the giant clergy. At the end of the ceremony, the choir girls sang hymns. The whole scene was shocking.
Max HodgeA night at one of Rio de Janeiro’s infamous favelas, will unquestionably be a new experience you're unlikely to forget in a hurry. Whist the prospect of dancing the night away in one of the city's most dangerous neighbourhoods sounds daunting, the reality is completely the opposite. Brazilians are renowned for knowing how to have a good time, and the nightlife in the favelas epitomises this, as the locals forget about their daily routines and let their hair down for a night of Favela madness! Just make sure you book it through a tour guide, rather than braving it by yourself.

Rio de Janeiro is a huge seaside city in Brazil, famed for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, 38m Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado and for Sugarloaf Mountain, a granite peak with cable cars to its summit. The city is also known for its sprawling favelas (shanty towns). Its raucous Carnaval festival, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes and samba dancers, is considered the world’s largest.

#tripaway a lot of beautiful memories that I have from my last trip to Brazil! Rio de Janeiro, or simply Rio, is anchor to the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area and the second-most populous municipality in Brazil and the sixth-most populous in the Americas. Rio de Janeiro is the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's third-most populous state, after São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Part of the city has been designated as a World Heritage Site. In Rio you will never feel bored!

#tripaway beautiful and unforgettable place! Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 metres high, excluding its 8-metre pedestal.
The statue weighs 635 metric tons and is located at the peak of the 700-metre Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro. A symbol of Christianity across the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, and is listed as one of the New wonders of the World. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone.

Christ the Redeemer or Cristo Redentor in the heart of Rio de Janeiro is a landmark signature of the city. You can get up to the Christ statue by tram or bus. Must visit when in Brazil.

As an Architectural Engineer l find this place pretty peculiar. Wonderful combination of heavy concrete structures and light metal tent constructions on the top of the hill! At this point of Morro da Urca you can take a ride to the top of the sugarloaf, set for a view or make a hike down through the woods to the wonderful city of Rio! 🤗❤

One of the hidden gems of Rio de Janeiro is Aquário in Praque Lage. Ancient building revived as a cafe in the middle of a 'jungle'. Many amazing trails with hidden gems around it! There is also a hiking path to the monument of Christ the Redeemer! Absolutely stunning!
