Dongtan Wetland Park is a wetland preservation area located at the extreme eastern tip of Shanghai’s Chongming Island. It is renowned as a birdwatching venue, lying along the migratory route of more than 150 different species. Some of the birds spotted in the park include cranes, swans, geese, white spoonbills, black-faced spoonbills, tufted ducks, and many varieties of shorebirds. Due to its location at the mouth of the Yangtze River, Dongtan Wetland Park is also known for its beautiful sunrises. Enjoy a walk along the park’s many wooden paths as you explore the marshlands and see the abundant wildlife in this unique part of Shanghai.
