A Magical Trainride
Bernina Express is a classic train route deep in the Swiss Alps. It's not as known as the Glacier Express, but the route is in my opinion even more beautiful, especially in winter!
🚞 Starting Point: St. Moritz Train Station
🏁 Final Point: Posciavo Train Station (Or Tirano)
🏷️ Costs: A train ticket for the one way route starts from about 20 Swiss Francs. If you book verly late, it's a little more pricy.
What you can expect: Great views, huge windows, a clean train and on board service.

The Beautiful St. Moritz
Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, St. Moritz stands as a beacon of sophistication, blending natural splendor with an air of refined luxury.
St. Moritz offers a captivating experience centered around the crystal-clear Lake St. Moritz. The lake becomes a playground for water sports enthusiasts, and its shores host a variety of cultural events and festivals. The surrounding mountains provide an ideal setting for hiking and mountain biking, allowing visitors to explore the Alpine beauty in a different season.
St. Moritz is not only a destination, it's a lifestyle. Visitors and residents alike immerse themselves in the glamorous après-ski scene, where cozy mountain lodges and chic lounges offer the perfect settings to unwind after a day on the slopes. Sip on a glass of mulled wine, enjoy a sumptuous Swiss fondue, or simply bask in the warmth of a crackling fireplace as the snowy landscapes provide a mesmerizing backdrop.

St. Moritz: The heart of the Swiss Alps.
#2024wish
A few years ago, I had the privilege of visiting St. Moritz, a captivating city nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Renowned for its opulent charm, the town boasts world-class skiing, drawing enthusiasts to its pristine slopes. The presence of upscale hotels contributes to an atmosphere of luxury, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors.
St. Moritz has earned its place in sporting history by hosting the Winter Olympics twice, underscoring its significance in the global winter sports community. Beyond the glamour, the city offers a picturesque Alpine setting, a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether indulging in winter sports or simply basking in the stunning surroundings, St. Moritz proves to be a destination where nature, luxury, and sporting excellence converge seamlessly.
In 2024, I wish to visit Johor.

St. Moritz Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
At the last stop of the Swiss niche tour, we still took the train to the town of St. Moritz. From Bellinzona to St. Moritz, we take the bus all the way, then transfer the train, take the 171bus in Bellinzona
The city of St. Moritz is small, and its long history and cultural deposits give the city its luxury and understated charm. St. Moritz is also a paradise for winter sports, and skiing, hiking, sledding and many other winter activities attract countless sports enthusiasts every year.
The only second Olympic Winter Games held in Switzerland are in St. Moritz. In the winter of 1907, the city's icy lake was the first to host an exciting winter jockey. It later evolved into the annual White Turf of St. Moritz, with horse racing on the ice, attracting the attention of people from all over the world.
The plane crossed the sky, leaving a pair of long wings, the sky is clear and high, like the children passing by, the smile is clean and pure.
To say that the whole Swiss happiness index has the highest index, non-St. Moritz can't. The town is built on the hills, and the streets in the town are full of big names. It is said that this is the first choice for the rich and happy vacation. There are also a few luxury hotels that can soak in the hot springs and watch the golden mountains of Rizhao. What a pleasant life, hh/

St. Moritz Ski Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
One of the best ski resorts in the world. Famous for the Cresta run and Swiss hospitality. I highly recommend taking the train here
🏔️ Skiing on a Budget: Escape the Pricey Slopes of St Moritz! 🛷⛰️
💸 My wallet is on a downhill slide even faster than I am, thanks to the sky-high prices in St Moritz! This exclusive winter wonderland may be a dream for the wealthy, but for those of us on a budget, the costs can be as steep as the slopes themselves.
❄️❄️ From the moment you arrive, St Moritz screams luxury and opulence. Here, even the snowflakes wear designer labels! But fear not, fellow ski enthusiasts, there are plenty of other ski resorts that won't break the bank. Let's explore some affordable alternatives to St Moritz and make skiing an accessible sport for everyone! 🎿🌟
1️⃣ Heavenly Hokkaido: Japan's ski resorts offer incredible powder at a fraction of St Moritz's prices. With world-class skiing, hot springs to relax in after a day on the slopes, and delicious local cuisine, Hokkaido is a paradise for budget-conscious skiers. 🍣⛷️
2️⃣ Charming Chamonix: Nestled in the French Alps, Chamonix combines breathtaking views with affordable accommodations. The slopes cater to all skill levels, and the après-ski scene is vibrant and lively. Plus, who can resist indulging in delicious French wine and cheese after a day on the mountain? 🇫🇷🧀🍷
3️⃣ Majestic Bansko: If you're seeking affordable skiing with a touch of history and culture, head to Bansko in Bulgaria. This charming town boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beautiful slopes, and wallet-friendly prices. Enjoy hearty Bulgarian cuisine and soak up the traditional atmosphere while skiing to your heart's content. 🇧🇬⛷️
4️⃣ Adventurous Andorra: Nestled between France and Spain, Andorra may be small, but its ski resorts pack a big punch. With a variety of slopes for all abilities, duty-free shopping, and lively nightlife, Andorra offers a wallet-friendly ski experience with all the trimmings. 🇦🇩🎉
💭 So, before you break the bank on the slopes of St Moritz, consider these alternative skiing destinations. With prices that won't leave you in a financial avalanche, you can still enjoy the thrill of the mountains without the designer price tags. What is your favorite skiing resort? Let us know in the comments below! ⬇️⬇️⬇️cr:joanna.maass
The St Moritz ski resort is really fun
I went skiing in St Moritz over the weekend, it was minus twenty degrees, but the sun was shining and the wind wasn't too strong, so it didn't feel that cold. 😅 Skiing in the morning when there aren't many people is really great! The snow quality is superb, and the scenery is incredibly beautiful! It's no wonder it's the origin of winter skiing holidays and the host of two Winter Olympics. ⛷🎿🏔
My favourite ski trail is at Furtschellas Bergstation, which is also a famous mountain photo spot. The ski trails here are away from the hustle and bustle, with beautiful scenery, and both the red and blue trails are winding and fun and chill.
Overall, there weren't too many people during the day, and there was no need to queue for the cable car. I ate delicious food and soaked in the hot springs, a perfect weekend!
Ticket price: Full day tickets start at 38.5 Swiss francs (46 Swiss francs for snowboarding), there are discounts for consecutive purchases, the longer you buy, the better the discount, there are separate tickets for children and teenagers.
Small tips: In addition to wearing ski suits, it is recommended to bring your own close-fitting clothes, mainly quick-drying sports types; because you need to keep your body temperature at all times to avoid losing heat due to seepage, in addition to clothes and pants, it's best to prepare a few pairs of ski socks 🧦, after all, snow will inevitably get in.
St Mortiz Luxury Town
This small but luxurious alpine resort is situated in quite possibly some of the most incredible scenery imaginable. Be sure to take the Bernina Express here and explore this beautiful town!
Tips : Most resort provide the rental and the lift ticket at a discounted rate ! Get the day pass so you can ride the bus unlimited.
Beautiful is an understatement for this place! Wish to visit this amazing place again in 2024.

Morteratsch Glacier Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Morteratsch Glacier in Switzerland
Last October I went to Morteratsch Glacier in Switzerland, close to Pontresina and St. Moritz.
The Morteratsch glacier is a small, retrieving glacier at the end of a small valley along the bernina pass road. During the last ice-age, it was much bigger.
🥾⛰️🚶You can either walk from Diavolezza cable car Station or to Boval cottage from Moteratsch town. We did the second and the view on the glacier is brilliant.
🍂 Best season: May-October
🎟️ Hiking is free, but you have to pay for food & drinks in the Boval cottage, if you don't bring your own snacks.

Great Hike to 'Boval cottage' in Switzerland
Boval cottage is 2494m above sea level in the Swiss Mountains, close to the city St. Moritz. It's next to the Morteratsch Glacier, one of the remaining glaciers in Southeast-Switzland. 🏔️ It's a doable hike starting from Morteratsch village. A second option is to hike over the glacier, starting from Diavolezza cablecar. 🚠 This option is better to do with an experienced guide.
🎫 Ticket? No entrance, the hike is free.
🏨 You can even sleep in the cottage. But hiking both ways in one day is definitely doable. The cottage has nice Swiss food and local specialities. 🫕
