Artists born and bred locally, their works reflect their homeland.
There was no museum in the original plan - time was limited, I wanted to take a look at the type. But the staff of the modern museum enthusiastically introduced me, and the last time I saw the donation of Setsuko Mikishi and her work there, it made me interested; and it was free. He knew nothing about the artist, and only later learned that he was a premature artist, who lived 31 years. So he understood the words on the logo: lived, painted, loved.
Yoshitaro Mikishi, born in Hokkaido CHO in 1903, started to show talent in painting when he was 15 years old, but died at the age of 31 due to a heart attack, and his painting style changed greatly in his short life of 10 years. His surrealist works, written several years before his death, were a harbinger of the tide of the times.

The Hokkaido Museum of art, which houses 247 of Yoshitaro Mikishi, has about 70 exhibitions.
