The former site of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea is located at No. 4, Lane 304, Madang Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai. It was the office of the Provisional Government from 1924 to 1932. The interim government was established in Shanghai, China in 1919 by South Korean patriots in exile after the Korean Peninsula was annexed by Japan in 1910 to resist Japanese aggression. All previous presidents of South Korea have visited here.
