Yishun Park

A short walk from Yishun Central, and you'd 1st see Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre, before stepping foot into Yishun Pond Park. Take some time to go through the exhibits and have a pick on the "Message of the Day" to help you with your reflection at the pond. While you walk around the park, do head up the Yishun Pond Park Lookout Tower to have a good view of the Pond. Once done, return to the Youth Centre and choose among the eateries to reward yourself with a good meal, while gazing at the pond.

📍Along Yishun Central in front of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (Singapore 760323) Around 10 minutes walk from Yishun MRT lies the peaceful & tranquil Yishun Pond Park. Lush greenery, views of the pond & lookout point from the spiral tower are the highlights of the park. The Yishun Pond Park is generally a smaller park & I reached the opposite of the pond in no time. This is also where the spiral tower/lookout point is. Love the view from the top of the tower where you can get a glimpse of the whole pond, park & also the nearby housing estate. Love the tranquility of the park as well. There's also some cafes near the park of which one can eat after the jog or walk. A medical garden by Khoo Teck Puat Hospital was also just beside the park trail. It's an overall nice nature walk, & I will definitely come again soon in the near future. #naturewonders

Located as part of Yishun Park, better known as the Yishun Pond, its a mini flower garden hidden right beside Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. For the past two years, a horticultural therapy is so much needed to relief all the amassed stress. Sharing my personal experience and how I chanced upon this place despite it being around for almost over a decade. It was a public holiday eve and was during the peak of the pandemic so there was literally nowhere to go despite being on half day off from work. Took the usual path back home with heavy steps and the world seems grey as thousands of lives were taken away in the past month. Thats when these vibrant flowers caught my attention. I literally spent almost an hour appreciating them. Singapore is a fast paced city with increasingly demand to improve its growth. It’s hard not to be stressed at times. Those who couldn’t find companions to travel or staycay will be left stressful so why not enjoy the beautiful nature that is always there for us. Slow bakes 30A Yishun Central S768796 Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre They have very nice sour doughs and great environment to dine at. Nice outdoor cooling sitting. A must come! Love the environment!

Bak Chor Mee is a typical type of noodle dish that can be found almost anywhere in Singapore. Bak Chor mee stands for minced meat noodles and they can be found in your coffee shops or food courts or hawker centre. At Yishun Park hawker centre, directly opposite of yishun Park, is an interesting noodle stall. Why interesting? Because they sell bak chor mee with a modern twist. I ordered their signature noodles which consists of an onsen egg, Japanese char siew, pork liver, fishballs and minced meat. Usually, bak chor mee doesn't have onsen egg or Japanese char siew. Nonetheless, the bowl of noodles was excellent. It seems like a Japanese fusion bowl of bak chor mee. You can also choose what type of noodles you want. If you're craving for this, the stall is open everyday. #celebratewithtrip

There are some days I just want some comfort food. Something oily, something unhealthy and something that makes me happy. My comfort food that I look to would be my favourite Ah Tan's wings, which is popular here in Singapore. They have a shop at yishun Park hawker centre and you do see tables of people ordering the same chicken wings from their stall. Their menu is also very simple. They only have fried chicken wings, or to be exact fried prawn paste chicken aka Har cheong gai (in cantonese). Besides that, you can have the option of rice with a fried egg and their deep fried chicken cutlet or wings. It is everyone's favourite wings because it is deep fried to perfection and the chicken still remains crispy after some time. The chili sauce matches well with the chicken as well. In Singapore, we have many different types of curry. There is Indian curry, Malay curry and even hainanese curry. Then, of course different types of ingredients for each curry as well, like fish head curry, mutton curry and chicken curry. Just opposite of yishun Park is yishun Park hawker centre and you can find a local stall selling homemade Nanyang curry, which is traditional Singapore style curry. The shop does not have a lot of items on their menu. You have a choice of fish head curry, mutton curry, curry vegetable and curry chicken. I tried their chicken chop curry with rice and it was splendid. The curry was rich and creamy and the chicken chop was crispy and juicy. If you are craving for curry, then do pop by this stall for homemade curry. It is satisfying! #celebratewithtrip

Open by Real food, the bakery offers a lot of vegan, naturally leavened sourdough, buns & breakfast toast set, weekend porridge & more. I got their toast with unsweetened peanut butter spread, & also got eggs & a drink. Toast was nice, but thought that it's a bit on the lighter side. The cafe was full house & some of the customers were queuing. Had to wait a bit to go in, and then to queue again to order the breakfast set. Nice scenic views from some of the seats.
