It is well worth a visit, with a collection of more than 400 living mammals, more than 1,200 birds, thousands of insects and other invertebrates, and about a quarter of the world’s mineral samples. The exhibitions are very rich, mainly divided into nine exhibition areas: recent mammal fossils, recent bird fossils, fish, amphibians and reptiles, insects, non-insect invertebrates, invertebrate fossils, minerals and rocks, and plants.

The National Museum of Bulgarian National History (Националенисторическимузей,Natsionalenistoricheskimuzey) is a historical museum in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and the largest museum in the country. The museum was founded on May 5, 1973, and the first exhibition was held in 1984. To celebrate the 1300 years of Bulgarian history, the museum contains about 650,000 artifacts, history and other artifacts, which now represent 10[%] of the total.

The National Museum of Natural History, founded in 1889, is the largest and oldest of its kind in the Balkans, and is part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
