Legend has it that during the Spanish colonial period, it was prepared to blow up the city of Brussels with explosives, just less than a night of peeing, pouring out the fuse and saving the city. In order to commemorate this little hero, everyone carved this seemingly playful statue. Less than the statue of the Urchin, it is known as the "first citizen of Brussels" statue, and other images of the urine boy can be seen nearby.
