Sangwonsa Temple

In ancient times, Shangwon Temple was also known as Zhenruyuan Temple. There are two stories about its builders. One is that it was built by Master Cizang and Woljeong Temple in AD 643. ) sons Baochuan and Xiaoming built. The temple was rebuilt in the 4th year of King Seongdeok (705 AD), was destroyed by fire in 1946, and rebuilt in 1947. To this day, only the Bell Pavilion remains. Ancient cultural relics are preserved in the temple, including the ancient bronze bell, the statue of the Manjushri boy in the legend of Shizu and Manjushri, and the great creation and persuasion written by the seventh generation of King Shizu for the newly built Shangyuan Temple. The bronze bell of Sangwonsa Temple was cast in the 24th year of King Seongdeok of Silla (AD 725). It is famous for its clear and clean bell and the statue of flying music in relief on the bell, but now it does not strike to protect the ancient bell.
