I want to watch the sunset by the Taihu Lake. Taihu, located at the junction of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in China, the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta, known as Zhenze, and the district, also known as Wuhu and Zhangze, is one of the five largest freshwater lakes in China, with a latitude of 30°55' 40"~31°32'58" and east longitude 119°52'32"~120°36'10", across the rivers and Zhejiang provinces, north to Wuxi, south to Huzhou, west to Yixing, east to Suzhou . The drainage area is 36,900 square kilometers, the water surface area is 2,338 square kilometers, and the lakeshore line is 393.2 kilometers long. The entire Taihu Lake system has more than 180 large and small lakes. It is the largest lake in the offshore area of eastern China and the third largest freshwater lake in China. The west and southwest sides are hilly mountains, and the east side is dominated by plains and water networks. The Taihu Lake system is venting from west to east. The average annual lake runoff is 7.5 billion cubic meters and the water storage capacity is 4.4 billion cubic meters. There are more than 50 islands in Taihu Lake, 18 of which are inhabited. Taihu Lake is famous for its beautiful lakes and mountains and splendid cultural landscape. It is a famous scenic spot in China.

The nearest excursion with lot of travel availability, that you can take from Shanghai is Suzhou. With all of my friends, we drove the car to the Jiangsu province; as we like the road trip but not too far. Also there are very good options available, by taking the high speed train from Shanghai to Suzhou at Hongqiao railway station. Comparatively the trains are super fast, and will get you there in 40 minutes. On the first day, half of it went in driving and so we went to the Taihu lake straightaway to get some cool breeze. And the serenity and peace it gave us is immense. I always have had deep thoughts when sitting in front of water, and it goes as deep as the water in front of you 😍. We grabbed some coffee and spent the evening there; couldn't move away though. The Suzhou eye is the highlight. The next day was a visit to the famous Tiger hill. As it was a national holiday as well, we have to wait in the line to get tickets and get inside; which took 1 hour. Then we went around to see the buddhas and the tower. It was a bit crowded, but we managed it. Then we went to a nearby street food, where we got to taste the local cuisine. On the last day, we don't want to venture into a crowded place; so chose to go to the Suzhou gardens where you can see the golden fishes in the pond. Then there's a nearby temple, where they have tradition of tying things in the tree that they wish. Then we drove back to Shanghai. Have a great trip guys !! #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #suzhoutravel #urbanexplorer#qingmingtravel#lightthecity
