War Museum Cambodia

In the southwest direction of Siem Reap City, follow Highway 6 to the west. After seeing the folk village, the next T-junction will enter the path south. The location is a bit biased and the navigation is still easy to find. The tickets only accept cash, Cambodian currency 21,000 riel or 50 RMB (100 is not change, it is recommended to prepare change). Inside are some obsolete weapons, worn but shocking. These tanks, artillery and guns seem to be telling history, through pictures of the hard-won peace in Cambodia, they can't speak, but they tell the most real history.

The War Museum is a very secluded place north of National Highway 6. There are no decent buildings in the museum, but some aircraft and tanks used in the past war years are parked in the courtyard, mostly made by the Soviet Union, and some guns, mines and other weapons are placed in the shed on both sides. We didn't have too high expectations for this museum, but when we walked in, everything changed. For just $5, you get a glimpse of what's happening in this country and the horrors they endured. Most of the exhibits are rusty military equipment, including guns and invalid ammunition. The most striking exhibit is the information board that displays these stories. It is well worth a look. A good opportunity to see military equipment that may be used in war at close range. Comparison and display of a wide variety of weapons. Easy to navigate and good photo opportunities.

Siem Reap's War Museum is the only war museum in Cambodia, giving visitors a deeper understanding of the disasters that Cambodia experienced in the last three decades of the twentieth century. The War Museum also offers visitors a great opportunity to experience what happened during Cambodia’s civil war. The museum is a collection of weapons, including tanks, mines, anti-aircraft guns, mortars, and many other wartime uniforms, equipment, and precious but never-publicized photographs of that particular era.
