The Ancient Shousheng Temple Scenic Area is located in Jiangyan District. It was built during the Song dynasty and one of the "14 jungles" of the Taizhou Buddhist community. A Bhaisajyaguru (Buddha of healing and medicine) Pagoda stands in the scenic area, several dozens of meters in height. It is divided into three sides featuring each of the three bodies of Bhaisajyaguru, namely the "Nirmanakaya" or incarnation, "Sambhogakaya" or body of bliss, and the "Dharmakaya" or body of truth. The Buddha statues look magnificent, with bodies entirely made of copper and faces covered in gold.
