Autumn's Embrace: Thun's Tapestry Unveiled
#fallishere
Bathed in the warm hues of autumn, I embarked on a tranquil walk through Thun, Switzerland. The crisp air carried the essence of fallen leaves, and the cobbled streets whispered tales of centuries past. As I ascended to Thun Castle, the panorama unfolded—a breathtaking canvas of amber and gold, with Lake Thun glistening beneath the azure sky.
The castle, adorned in ivy and history, welcomed me to its timeless embrace. From the battlements, I marveled at Thun's tapestry: red-roofed houses nestled in the embrace of nature. The rhythmic symphony of leaves crunching beneath my steps accompanied the distant melodies of the town below.
As the sun painted the landscape in a warm farewell, I found solace in the simplicity of the moment. Thun, in its autumnal splendor, revealed the magic of a season in harmony with history, nature, and the gentle cadence of life.
Traditional Swiss music
Switzerland has long had a distinct cultural identity, despite its diversity of German, French, Italian, Romansh and other ethnicities. Religious and folk music dominated the country until the 17th century, with growth in production of other kinds of music occurring slowly.

I came to Thun Thun, rented a bicycle at the free rental car near the train station, and decided to explore the beautiful town next to the Traken by cycling.
The first impression of me is the typical European town. The narrow streets with high and low undulations pass through the center of the city. The streets are clean and yet warm, and the quiet flowing river passes through the narrow and quiet old town.

Thun Castle: A Timeless Fortress
#fallishere
Thun Castle, situated in Thun, Switzerland, boasts a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Originally constructed in the 1100s, it served as a protective fortress overlooking the town and the strategic confluence of the Aare River. Over the centuries, the castle underwent various modifications, with significant renovations in the 15th century giving it a distinctive late-medieval appearance. Thun Castle played a pivotal role in regional conflicts and witnessed the ebb and flow of power among local noble families.
During the 19th century, the castle underwent restoration, transitioning from a military stronghold to a symbol of cultural heritage. Today, it stands as a well-preserved testament to medieval architecture and offers visitors a glimpse into Thun's historical narrative. The castle's commanding views of the surrounding landscape and its cultural exhibits make it a popular destination, blending the allure of the past with contemporary appreciation for heritage.
Oberhofen Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Oberhofen Castle is one of the most castles in the state of Berne. In the 12th century, the castle was built as the main hall of Oberhofen. When the Duke of Chailingen dominated the belt, it served as a fortress in the city of Thun. Later, due to the demise of the Chailingen family, the Haupsburg family came in. After entering the 20th century, it was acquired by a US lawyer and a consortium was established. Oberhofen Castle is now a museum of history and is open to the public. The interior of the library, Turkish-style smoking room, kitchen and other areas reflect the interior style of Gothic, Revival, Baroque and other eras, and is highly valued by tourists from all over the world.
Oberhofen Castle, situated beside the beautiful Lake Thun, is impressed by its romantic medieval style and towering towers. Strolling through the different historical rooms, it is conceivable that the life of the Bernese people of the 16th and 19th centuries was alive: the elegant summer hall, the Gothic revival-style restaurant and the amazing weapons in the armory. Imagine if you were listening to a concert in the concert hall and then stepping into the Turkish-style smoking room overlooking the lake and the mountains. What a wonderful thing. The chapel with unique 15th-century frescoes in the castle is still used for christening and weddings.
