Tianjin Five Avenues (Wudadao)
Touring Tianjin Five Avenues in a self-cycling Tour car. The weather was perfect! You definitely want to try this with a friend. The experience was amazing ! My friend and I didn’t have a tour guide because we wouldn’t understand Chinese, we had our map, and we would shadow other cycle cars.
Cycling outside Minyuan Plaza for a quick tour. The Minyuan Plaza is stunning at first sight. It serves as a comprehensive public facility equipped with a running track, lawns, seating areas and multiple business outlets. The plaza has become a popular destination for tourists and locals. You may be surprised at the number of food stands nearby.
Tianjin Five Avenues (Wudadao) are on the south part of the downtown of Tianjin in the shape of rectangle area with the total length of 17 km and total area of 1.28 square meters. There are 23 roads in this area, 2000 various types of architectures among which more than 900 garden houses and lodging houses were built up before 1949, embodying the architectures in different historical periods of Europe.
Just Started Traveling! Love it First day of the year in Tianjin

I departed from Beijing early in the morning, as the high speed train is only 30 minutes to get to Tianjin from Beijing South railway station... how convenient! 🚅
In Tianjin we biked and walked around these places: 🏃🚴🏻
- Porcelain House
- Wu Da Dao (5 big avenues)
- Italian Town

Overall, a super nice day ☀️

Wudadao Area
Wudadao area or Five Great Avenue in Tianjin. ✅This is a historical part of the city, located in downtown. It’s a former German concession, later it became a residence for local politicians, or famous people. Buildings here are in European style. Walking all around those streets it’s possible to forget that you are in China.
Buildings represent the part of Tianjin history. Some of them became museums. But lots of houses function right now like cafes, bars or restaurants. Almost in every street you will find an unusual stylish place to drink a cup of coffee.
Walk or take a bike and ride all around! You will not regret!

Porcelain house Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Tianjin Porcelain House|A French-style mansion built with billions of ancient porcelain pieces (with guide)
In Tianjin, I saw all kinds of buildings, but I was amazed by the Porcelain House! The Porcelain House reminds me of the Porcelain Palace in Jingdezhen, both are buildings decorated with a large number of porcelain pieces.
‼️Preface
Everyone is talking about whether it's worth buying a ticket to see the Porcelain House. If you are here on a holiday, don't go in, there are too many people and the experience is very poor. If you are interested in architecture or want to take a picture with the Porcelain House, I recommend going to see it. If you just want to take a quick look, I don't recommend buying a ticket to go in, after all, the ticket is quite expensive, you can just check in at the door.
🏠Attraction Introduction
The Porcelain House is a French-style mansion built with ancient porcelain pieces. The Porcelain House has a total of 4 floors. The entire house, from inside to outside, except for the ground paved with marble, all visible places are inlaid with porcelain pieces, even the walls are made of porcelain mosaic paintings.
The construction of the entire Porcelain House used more than 700 million ancient porcelain pieces, more than 13,000 ancient porcelain bottles, plates, bowls, more than 300 stone sculptures from various dynasties, more than 300 Han white jade stone lions, more than 300 porcelain cat pillows from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, more than 20 tons of crystal agate, etc. It is known as a priceless 'Chinese Ancient Porcelain Museum'.

Porcelain house + Tianjin
I went to Porcelain house in Winters. It was quite good expert. Should buy ticket to go inside but most of people refer to take pictures from outside as it’s beautiful from outside. and there’s a old house of famous emperor near Porcelain house. I stay there for 30-40 minutes, took pictures and went away.

Unique Porcelain House in Tianjin
For someone who loves Chinese porcelain vases, visiting this unique building in the heart of Tianjin was quite fun!
The building is covered with hundreds (if not thousands) of beautiful porcelain vases.
Inside the space is quite empty and the collection of Chinese furniture not really well displayed, so the main attraction is definitely the exterior part of the house, which is one of a kind.
A nice spot to check out when in Tianjin!

Italian Town in Tianjin 🇮🇹
Nice to walk around the Italian Town in Tianjin!
Pretty building all around, which reminded me of some of my home town in Italy...
The statue if our most important national poet Dante Alighieri...
and last but not least... some of the best Italian food at the Venezia Restaurant: pizza with mortadella, burratara and pistachio cream, and family recipe gnocchi, and some Italian beer

Shangri-La Hotel Tianjin Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Watching seagulls, tasting food, with a comfortable mood, experiencing the beautiful scenery by the river
Shangri-La in Tianjin is a historic luxury hotel located in the bustling area of downtown Tianjin, built in 1923. It was once one of the most famous hotels during the British concession period. Now this century-old building has been revitalized and has become the most desirable and eye-catching accommodation choice locally.
Design
Stepping into the Shangri-La Hotel in Tianjin, you will be impressed by its elegant and exquisite design. Every detail reflects high quality and luxury, from the lobby to the rooms, public areas to garden views, you can feel a strong cultural atmosphere in every corner.
Room
We stayed in a luxury river view room, the super large floor-to-ceiling glass window is really awesome, the Haihe street view is in full view, especially the night view, the beautiful scenery composed of dazzling neon and flowing traffic, not to be missed. Of course, we were lucky to stay in a room with floor-to-ceiling glass windows on both sides, the view is just unspeakable! The layout of the room is great, with leisure sofas and writing desks, suitable for both business and leisure. Here is a small tip for girls who like to take pictures, put the quilt on the sofa, you can create a feeling of pretending to sleep by the window, change into a bathrobe and take a set of lazy vacation style pictures, just for this, I have to blow up this hotel!
Food
Dining at Shangri-La is never a concern, Xianggong has never disappointed. Breakfast is diverse, but the overall meal feels a bit northern, buns, noodles, roujiamo, pancake fruit, tofu brain, really Tianjin and many are freshly made.
Facilities
I must praise the hotel's gym, where I completed my first 3km run on a treadmill in my life, probably because the current environment was too comfortable for me to forget. First of all, the space is super large, the equipment is very complete, and we almost have the whole gym to ourselves on weekday afternoons.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool of Shangri-La is very beautiful, it is an infinity pool, facing the Haihe River, swimming will give you a feeling of swimming into the Haihe River, the feeling is quite unique among many hotel swimming pools, and it also has underwater sound system.
Service
The staff are very polite and enthusiastic, when cleaning the room, they knew that I like to drink osmanthus tea and put a few more bags, and when checking out, they were very enthusiastic to help push the luggage.
