Tianjin Yuan's former residence is a mansion full of historical charm and unique architectural style. It is located at No. 39 Haihe East Road, Hebei District, Tianjin, built in Qingguangxu in 34 years. It was commissioned by German and British architects after Yuan Shikai was the Governor of Zhili and Minister of Beiyang. The building not only combines the medieval "Roman style" and the Germanic architectural techniques, but also shows the unique style of German architecture in the details. The red steep roof is built in the middle of the ridge of the buckle-shaped lighting pavilion, which is modeled on the dome of the early Italian Renaissance "St. Mary's Cathedral". The combination of porch square columns and columns shows the German national architectural style. This mansion is not only unique in architecture, but also integrates rich cultural connotation. The former residence of the family has a back garden built in the garden, which has rockery, a gallery, fishing pavilions, flowers, etc., each place is carefully carved, showing the dignity and taste of the family. And a "hidden" and "de-sent" in the garden, it adds a little mystery to this mansion.
The east bank of the Haihe River is located in a small German-style building with a red steep roof and a bell-shaped lighting pavilion. This small western-style building is the old residence of Yuan Shikai, the only surviving small western-style building in Tianjin from the 16th to 18th centuries. Most notably, this building has a "hidden" and "de-sitting". The location of the hidden position is a small door at the right corner of the second floor. There is a reinforced concrete staircase inside the door, which can be reached to the roof and the basement can be directly connected. If you close the small door, you can't find the stairs to the basement. "Take off" is an iron staircase next to the pavilion on the third floor, which leads directly to the back garden door, from which you can escape. In the comprehensive development and transformation of Haihe River, the building has been rebuilt and is now a municipal cultural relics protection unit. Tickets are required to visit.
Very good, have a sense of age
Worth a walk.
The overall is very small, but you can simply understand the prestige of Yuan Shikai in his heyday and his life.
