The electrical appliance mall in Akihabara is a bit like a big supermarket, and most of the goods are placed on shelves for people to choose from. Most shopping malls in Akihabara have similar layouts. The first and second floors sell comics and photos, the third and fourth floors sell seiyuu CDs and so on. Some shopping malls still sell figures or game cards.
Akihabara has to be number 1 of the places to visit before you die. it’s a perfect mix of cute and futuristic, with shopping and eating for everyone of any taste. if there was a perfect district, then akihabara would fit that description for the sense of awe it inspires just from sight alone.
Akihabara, one of my favorite places in Tokyo, is a paradise for all anime fans like me. Once you come out from Akihabara station, all anime, comic, games posters are everywhere. Arcade, UFO (doll catching machine), comic character models, you can find all your favourite characters here. We spent quite a lot of money on doll catching game, but somehow when you spent a certain amount and still unable to catch your doll, their friendly staff will give you a helping hand to ‘adjust’ the doll in an easy catch position, so... spend more and you will definitely get a doll home!
vintage game maid cafe ufo catcher figuring shop to archade .. all can be found in this area .. even you are not a fan of toy game figrue .. but there is no harm for walking down this interesting street , skip the shine for a day . visit her try your luck on those big soft toy catching machinese . in short the ufo catcher .
Great energetic place! Even if you don't like anime or 'otaku' it is a lot of fun to walk around here, shop, or visit a café.
I picked Akihabara to stay based on comments I had read online and I wasn't disappointed. Akihabara is very easy to get to as it's in the middle of Tokyo and quite close to Tokyo station if you decide to take the train. at night there are beautiful things to see and do. lots of manga/anime shops, arcades, maid coffees, video games shop..
