Here is the strategy I have sorted out! Guizhou is really the first choice for Guangzhou's surrounding tours, because it has beautiful scenery and low prices, very suitable for weekend relaxation! My boyfriend and I went together, and the cost of two people did not exceed 1,500 yuan. We suggest taking the train from Guangzhou South to Congjiang Station (passing through Guilin, Guangxi on the way, the scenery is super beautiful!) The round-trip ticket price is 388 yuan. We recommend staying in the village inside Zhaoxing Dong Village, so it is very convenient to travel. I live two kilometers outside the village, and every time I travel, I am picked up and dropped off by the boss of a guesthouse called Yihao Guesthouse, which is very convenient. The boss is very friendly! I stayed there for two days and had a great experience! As for tickets, student tickets are 40 yuan. We went to two attractions, one is Tang'an Terraced Fields (next to the terraced fields is a Tang'an Dong Village), and the other is Zhaoxing Tong Village. Tang'an Terraced Fields is located on the mountain, and Zhaoxing Dong Village is located at the foot of the mountain. We arrived at Tang'an Terraced Fields at noon, so we wanted to go to the mountain to enjoy the scenery in the afternoon. The boss of the guesthouse told us that we were very lucky because the weather was particularly good that day and we could see the sunset (it was cloudy and rainy the previous few days). To go to the terraced fields, you need to take a car. There are some people selling tickets on the roadside in Zhaoxing Dong Village. We directly bought a round-trip ticket for 20 yuan. It takes about 15 minutes to go up the mountain. The mountain road is very winding! Always going around. If you get carsick, it's best to prepare a bag. If you don't get carsick, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window, which is really super beautiful! After reaching the top of the mountain, the driver will drop us off at the entrance of Tang'an Dong Village, and the entrance is Tang'an Terraced Fields. At that time, we chose to visit Tang'an Dong Village first, and then return to the entrance to watch the sunset when the sun went down, and then return to the guesthouse. Tang'an Dong Village is very comfortable, and the whole village gives people a leisurely feeling, which is very suitable for relaxing. The local architecture is very distinctive, and it looks more charming under the afternoon sun. Compared with Tang'an Dong Village, Zhaoxing Dong Village is more lively, full of human fireworks. Walking into the alley is a residential area, with a small stream in the middle, where you can see children catching fish in the river and women washing clothes. The size of the village is moderate, and it takes about two or three hours to visit. Entering from the entrance of the village, you will see a street for renting ethnic costumes, with many shops. I rented a set of costumes, the price is 30 yuan for two hours. Many households in the village will hang dyed long cloth and tie-dyed clothes on the upper floor of their homes. Some shops can experience tie-dyeing, but because the process is more complicated and time-consuming, we did not go. The most representative local delicacy is crispy fragrant pig. Crispy fragrant pig powder can be seen everywhere, and the price is also very affordable, only a dozen yuan a bowl. (I ate for two days haha) In addition, grilled pork skewers are also a good choice, 6 skewers can be bought for 10 yuan, very delicious!

📍Location: Zhaoxing Dong Village, located in the southeast of Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is the largest Dong village in Qiandongnan. It was selected by National Geographic as one of the '33 most tempting tourist destinations in the world'. 🚗Transportation: Departing from Guangzhou, the high-speed train from Jiang Station takes 4 hours to reach. After getting off the train, exit the station, walk to the right, take a minibus (10 yuan/person), and you can reach the village in about 10 minutes. 🎫Ticket: 80 yuan/person/3-day pass for the village (free for residents of Guangzhou/Foshan/Shenzhen) 🏠Homestay: The village is not big, basically you can finish visiting in 1 hour. The main street is about 1 kilometer long. It is recommended to choose a homestay at the entrance of the village to avoid dragging luggage (some cross streets are quite rugged stone roads). In terms of cost performance, we chose to stay at the Dust Wind Inn. 🌟Homestay location: It is on the slope at the entrance of the village. When coming from the high-speed rail station, tell the driver to stop near the Dust Wind Inn. 🌟Homestay rooms: Chinese-style design, the balcony facing the village can directly overlook the terraces and the village, the viewing lake and the waterwheel are just below (the homestay offers a variety of room types, choose a lake view room to see the village). When we came, it was not the peak season. After nightfall, the constant stream of pedestrians during the day decreased a lot, so it did not affect sleep at all. It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the homestay to the main street. You can communicate with the shop owner in advance about the arrival time. If you take a bus from the high-speed rail station, you basically don't need to carry your luggage after getting off the bus, which is very convenient for travel. 🌟Near the homestay: The travel photography and breakfast shop are quite convenient, just nearby. It is recommended to try the local mutton rice noodles, which taste great.

How amazing it is to be rated as the most beautiful ancient town in China by National Geographic. Take a two-day leisure trip~ Direct high-speed train! Come to Zhaoxing Dong Village in Guizhou! Being selected as one of the 'Six Most Beautiful Ancient Villages in China' by Chinese National Geographic is really shocking! Compared to the Qianhu Yao Village, I prefer the slow life here. There are very few people on non-weekends, and there is no need to compete for photo spots. The locals are quite simple, and the food prices are not high. There are large areas of stilted buildings in the dry column style, and you can rent ethnic costumes. Both architectural and humanistic photography are very outstanding.

I’ve never imagined I would come to love a place in so short spur of a time, but I did. #肇兴侗寨 is located in Liping, Guizhou, and is a must visit if you are like me, looking for yourself, exploring aesthetics and simple way of life. This place is one of the villages resided by Yi Zu, one of the 52 minority groups in China. The locals here are honest and trusting. I made a lot of small talks with the shop owners, the vendors on the street, the drivers, and with other fellow travellers. The atmosphere here conveyed an utopian sense of simplicity. And when darkness falls and daylight fades, the village becomes boisterous that brings it a more modern feel. I recommend not to follow any of the Dianping or travel recommendations. Staying in Zhaoxing Dong Village in January has it's ups and downs. The village is full of beauty and culture so don't miss it when visiting Guizhou. 💙 Wrap up warm！ The weather is cold and humid, don't underestimate how many layers you need, thermals reccomended. 💙 Take care of your equipment！ The drizzling rain is incredibly beautiful and the streets cleared of people so I photographed everything until my camera had enough and shut down for 30 mins 🙈 💙 Look for a modern hotel！The houses here are all wooden, which means the cold permeates each room. A stunning place to visit. The views are breath taking and the people are kind. The buildings and temples are in great condition and give a clear idea of how life once was. Zhaoxing is the perfect village to base yourself in for a few nights if you want to experience the Dong minority groups of Guizhou. Nestled between rice terraces, this village is filled with beautiful traditional Dong style architecture. You can spend a few days wandering the village itself as well as hiking to remote villages in the rice terraces. It is also a good place to base yourself whilst you explore the surrounding villages of Basha and Huanggang. Basha is the only village in China where the locals are still allowed hunting rifles as it is imbedded in their culture. It’s touristy, but worth a few hours of exploring. Huanggang is the opposite. Not touristy at all and a beautiful village to meander through for a few hours. To get there: take a 1.5 hour bullet train from Guiyang to Congjiang. Outside the station will be a bus stop with many buses travelling the 20 minute journey to Zhaoxing.

Located south-east of Guiyang, Guizhou province - Zhaoxing is a small village nestled in the hills surrounded by rice terraces. Characteristic of the Miao ethnic minority, small wooden buildings and narrow alleyways dominate this small village, with the occasional spire marking areas where locals get together to play games like mahjong or cards in the evening. While the town has been refurbished for tourism, the town is a great place to walk around and explore while the surrounding hills offer an aerial vantage point from which to enjoy the unique architecture. Well worth a visit. One of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in China! The architecture is stunning and there are lots of nice bars, restaurants and guest houses in the village. Be sure to try some of the different types or rice wines (around 15 Yuan a cup). entry is 80 Yuan and then there is the option of taking a 20 Yuan shuttle bus to the entrance gate. the view point from the entrance is stunning and you can take a walk up to the higher viewpoint too. both worth a look! loads of busses heading to and from Congjiang Railway Station. Also, the bus station next to the train is great for getting to Jiabang or other destinations in the area. Enjoy! #summervacation

However, due to the long queue when I was there, I ended up taking a taxi. 🏠Accommodation: We didn't have many choices when booking, so I won't make any recommendations. If you're staying in a homestay in the village, you'll need to walk a bit. If you don't want to walk, I recommend staying on the main street. 🍲Food: 👉Dongpinfang's sour soup beef hotpot, highly recommended!! Also, the crispy skin pork is crunchy, but it can be greasy if you eat too much. 👉Special beef and mutton rice noodles, delicious, the noodles are very springy, and if you like spicy food, you must add their chili. 👉Hua Jie Breakfast Shop, I think it's average, but I recommend the special beef and mutton rice noodles more. 👉Handmade glutinous rice cakes, sticky and wrapped with fragrant soybean flour, don't miss out on the sticky treats, available near the Dongjia Xiaoguan from the auntie. 👉Chen Beibei's yogurt, average, but if you like yogurt, give it a try. 👉Grilled pork skewers, available everywhere, spicy is better than the original flavor. 🎯Itinerary: 🌟Day 1: Take the bus - Check in - Have lunch - Visit Tang'an Rice Terraces - Walk around the village, eat, and take photos - Watch the bonfire singing performance in the village. 🌟Day 2: Wake up, have lunch - Jiajie Batik Experience Hall, where you can take photos and shop (you can also try tie-dyeing or buy clothes) - 'To the Place with Wind' Batik Workshop, the windowsill is very photogenic - Wander and take photos around the village - Light and Shadow Story Coffee Shop, lots of cats, but don't disturb them, they might randomly jump on your table or sleep in the cat bed when they're in a good mood, super cute - Tang'an Rice Terraces (went again because the weather was bad and foggy the previous day, it's really beautiful when the weather is good, worth the visit). 🌟Day 3: The rain gives the Dong Village a unique charm, have rice noodles in the morning - Dongpin Yuan Weaving, Dyeing, and Embroidery Experience Hall & Museum (there's tie-dye cloth for photos, but don't get too close, some are still wet!) - Continue to wander, take photos, and eat - Return trip. 📸Photo spots: See the pictures~ High success rate for good photos, the drum tower is great to shoot both during the day and at night. The Dong Village is quite small, three days and two nights are enough to enjoy it, and we even visited the rice terraces twice. It's a place to enjoy a leisurely life, listening to the sound of water at night, feeling the comfort of being close to nature. There are many places in the village to take portrait photos, so ladies who want to try can plan for it. The atmosphere in the small bars at night is great! I personally have a very good impression of the Dong Village, it's a relaxing travel destination!
