Burano Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Burano perfect day trip from Venice
If you’re heading to Venice and have enough time, I recommend you plan a day trip to Burano. However, Burano is quite touristy too so I highly recommend you to go there in the morning so you have enough time to head back to Venice! I was there in the morning and have the whole Burano to myself.
It was so peaceful and beautiful 🤩 with the rainbow colors painted houses-could be the most colorful island in the entire world!
As you may know, public transport in Venice mainly consists of water buses – the so-called vaporettos.
The only water bus that goes to Burano – and Murano as well – is route 12 which departs from Fondamente Nove (Ft. Nove).
This stop is in the northern part of Venice and a 20-minute walk from St. Mark’s Square.
Do take note of the ferry timing so as not to miss and plan well so that you have sufficient time to return back to venice. I had also took the day pass so I could use the water taxis foe the entire day! #italy #2024wish #2024wish #venice #venicedaytrip
Burano the colourful island
Burano is an island in the Lagoon of Venice. It is located to the north of Venice, very near Torcello, and is famous for its lacemaking.
The island with about 4,000 inhabitants has a curious leaning bell tower that is visible from a distance.
Burano has become one of the most visited islands for its colourful houses. Every so often, it's compulsory for the neighbours to paint the façades of their homes and they are not allowed to choose the colour but are notified of the specific shade according to where their residence is located. A legend is told that the houses were painted with bright and cheerful colours so that the sailors could see them on gloomy or foggy days.#burano
Burano - Venice, Italy
Burano is a small & colourful island located in the Venetian Lagoon. The island is famous for its picturesque canals, brightly painted houses & lace-making tradition.
The island’s history dates back to the 6th century when it was settled by people fleeing barbarian invasions on the mainland.
The colourful houses are painted due to a legend saying that the different colours help fisherman find their way home in the fog.
I would highly recommend a half-day trip to Burano, to better understand the culture & history of it. Burano is a short boat ride away from Venice, Italy.

Colored Houses of Burano, Italy
#colorfultrip
Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, near Torcello at the northern end of the lagoon, known for its lace work and brightly coloured homes. The primary economy is tourism. Burano is also known for its small, brightly painted houses, which are popular with artists. The colours of the houses follow a specific system, originating from the golden age of its development.🇮🇹

St Mark’s Square
#winhkflight
St Mark’s Square, also known as Piazza San Marco which was once famously called “The drawing room of Europe” and it is the largest piazza in Venice. At the square, you will able to see the beautiful surrounding galleries, St Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile or Bell Tower. You may even see a top of the Doge’s Palace. You can take a moment, find a restaurant and have some wine and small plates to enjoy the building, music and environment.

Venice in August is beautiful and lively
Seeing is believing, there are many people and boats, the weather is great and the scenery is pleasing, much better than the small canals spread on the internet. You can stay for one night, two nights, or three nights, it's all up to you.
Bus No. 5 runs between the airport and the city station every 20 minutes, you can buy tickets directly from the driver, pay in cash, one way is 10 euros, less than 30 minutes, super convenient.
It's best to just carry a backpack, don't drag a suitcase. There are steps and small bridges everywhere in the city, dragging a suitcase will exhaust you.
St Mark’s Square in VENICE
It is one of the most famous sights and largest spaces in Venice. A charming square surrounded by eateries (cafes, restaurants, gelato kiosks) where you will definitely be spoilt for choices.
The surrounding canals, churches and architecture is also beyond spectacular.
Address: Basilica San Marco, P.za San Marco, 328, 30100 Venezia VE, Italy

Tour in Gondola ~ Venice
#fallingforfall
Gondolas are one of the most iconic symbols of Venice. The entire world knows the silhouette of these elegant Venetian boats plying on the water of the canals of Venice, rowed by the renown gondoliers.
It is true that if there are many reasons for which Venice is famous in the whole world, few are as well known and evocative as the Venice Gondola.
We know that some of you will be happy to just admire and take pictures of these beautiful Venetian boats. But we also know that many visitors are thrilled to experience a gondola ride in Venice, Italy!
Walking around Venice ~🇮🇹
#fallingforfall
Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.. 😍🤩🇮🇹
Walking in Venice ~ Venezia 🇮🇹🍷😍
Venice, known also as the “City of Canals,” “The Floating City,” and “Serenissima,” is arguably one of Italy's most picturesque cities. With its winding canals, striking architecture, and beautiful bridges, Venice is a popular destination for travel.
Venice is unique environmentally, architecturally, and historically, and in its days as a republic the city was styled la serenissima (“the most serene” or “sublime”). It remains a major Italian port in the northern Adriatic Sea and is one of the world's oldest tourist and cultural centers

Venice City of Water

Bonjorno!
Venice is 'city of water', 'city of bridges', 'floating city' and 'city of masks'.
Well ... did Venice make it on my list of one of my most fav city in the world? Probably not!
But I must say that Venice have its own charm. The city itself is beautiful ... The architecture is amazingly unique and have loads of history.
Yeah ... It is a tourist town ... It is overcrowded, really expensive & constantly under renovation... But if you can look pass that you will enjoy Venice .
The main attraction here is Grand Canal, St. Mark Square, gandolas? and Rialto Bridge to name a few.
But for me the real gems is their outer Island - Lido, Burano, Murano AND wandering around back alleys in Venice, observing antique building & get lost! ... I consider myself quite good with directions but here the buildings looks similar and there's hundreds of bridge ... It's like walking in a maze ... You will get lost ... I mean really2 lost & it was so much fun!! But sooner or later you will know your way plus it's an island ... no matter how lost you are it's not like you can get off of it.
Wandering around you will find hidden treasure of Venice, antique places, watch local live their life and play ... Observing people ,their interaction and you will try to guess another person's story ... I love doing it .. When you travel you will met different people with different walk of life ... People watching is very insightful and informative way to know them. It allows you to observe humanity in all its diversity and similarity.
Anyway ... Some tips in Venice : when you first arrive and looking for your hotel pls prepare a map of your hotel location ... Wandering around in Venice is fun ... But walking clueless for hours with heavy backpack is no fun ... Every shops have a business card ask for it ... usually they got a map on that card ... That's how you know exactly where you are ... Don't eat at table outside a restaurant ... Eat inside or take away ... It's cheaper ... Don't eat at places with 20 different languages on the menu or didn't show a price at all ... You'll end up pay a fortune.

€2 Gondola Ride in Venice
Instead of forking out a minimum of €80 for a 25-30 minute ride on a gondola in Venice, did you know you can have the full gondola experience across the Grand Canal in Venice for just 2.5% of the cost?
This is all made possible if you go to ‘Gondola Traghetto’ which is only a short walk away from the famous Rialto Bridge. You don’t need to book in advance, just join a relatively small queue of people (even in the summer), pay €2 and hop on the gondola.
There are a couple of drawbacks to this, one being you’ll be sharing the gondola with a number of strangers rather than renting a private gondola for your party. Secondly the gondola trip only lasts roughly 3 minutes as you simply cross the canal rather than travel along it.
If neither of these things put you off then this is definitely a bargain and a must do on your trip to one of the most magical cities in Europe.

Rialto Bridge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Oldest bridge in Venice, Italy
#winhkflight #Bridge #Venice #Italy
Rialto Bridge is the oldest stone arch bridge spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. The Rialto Bridge consists of a single stone arch span that support two rows of shops. The bridge is famous for tourist because of the history and the shops. The shops there sell Murano glass, jewellery, souvenirs, and more. As you cross the Rialto Bridge, you will be mesmerised by the panoramic view of the Grand Canal. To have a better view of the Rialto Bridge, it is recommended to take canal.
I want to travel to Hong Kong to enjoy their culture, lifestyle, busy city and foods.
The city with 400 bridges - Venice, Italy
Venice is an intricately built city with canal upon canal interwoven with another, getting from one side to the other means crossing bridge upon bridge. DID YOU KNOW that Venice has about 400 bridges, crazy right 😱 BUT only 4 of those bridges cross the Grand Canal and this is one of the bridges. 1. “Ponte degli Scalzi” is located near Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia and Piazzale Roma 🌁
2. Ponte dell’Accademia near the Gallerie dell’Accademia;
3. Ponte di Calatrava a Venezia (officially “Ponte della Costituzione”); and
4. The oldest, grandest, and most famous of them all — the Rialto Bridge.
