    Monumental building

Designed by friedirch schmidt and built in 1872 to 1883. it is in gothic style with tower similar to gothic cathedrals. Today it is the city hall. Impressive and nice to see.

    Stunning Building.

One of many stunning buildings to see even just from the outside, with lots of history to tell. Architecture is beautiful, as are many buildings in Vienna.

Additional Information

Introduction

Vienna's city hall, also known as the Rathaus, acts as the central place of business for the mayor and city council. Architect Friedrich von Schmidt was chosen over others for his impressive Gothic design, and the building was finally built in the late 1870s. At the height of the structure sits one of the icons of the city, the Rathausmann.
