The first meal in Laos, I found a Chinese restaurant in Vientiane. There are many Chinese restaurants in Vientiane. Most of them are Sichuan and Hunan styles. I have also found Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisines later, but they are rare. This time I asked a teacher from China's "Confucius Institute" in Vientiane to take us to play together. The teacher is very young and energetic. For several years in Laos, he rented a house in Vientiane, so most of the restaurants he brought were local Chinese.
Patuxay, the Victory Monument, offers a delightful experience for an evening stroll with loved ones. The serene atmosphere is complemented by a captivating music fountain, creating a perfect setting for quality time with family and friends. The monument's architectural grandeur adds a touch of historical charm to the surroundings, making it a must-visit destination. Whether you're seeking relaxation or a cultural outing, Patuxay provides a memorable and enjoyable outing in the heart of the city.
In the evening there is a small fountain and music show. it’s not at all crowded. I have seen very few locals with their kids. it’s a beautiful monument.
This should be an iconic building in Laos and a landmark in Vientiane. The area is not very large, there are government departments such as the Prime Minister's Office next to it. View for 20 minutes, free attractions.
