Liugong Island National Forest Park is a scenic spot on Liugong Island. It forms a large landscape with other attractions on the island, historical buildings and museums. You can climb the mountain directly from the cable car and overlook the wonderful scenery of the mountains and the sea.
Liugong Island is located at the mouth of Weihai Bay Bay at the east end of Shandong Peninsula in eastern China. The island covers an area of 3.15 square kilometers and the coastline is 14.95 kilometers long. It is a natural barrier on the sea in Weihai City and has an extremely important position in national defense. It is known as the "Eastern Screen Vatican" and the "Unsinkable Warship". Many maritime wars occurred here from Ming, Qing to liberation, especially the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 which left a deep historical footprint.
