My friends and I got in for free since we are foreigners. Made the most of that trip by spending 3 hours walking around inside.
It is free to enter! Nice scenery. On the first floor you can mostly find potteries, but the more interesting stuff are on the higher floors. There was also an Egyptian exhibition for 50rmb but it was very small and nothing of importance could be seen there - so thats a disappointment. The small terracotta soldiers are in nice conditions and there are several weapons you can check out from the ancient days to the classical age. Behind the building is the Tomb of one of the Hans and his wife. But I guess its still under construction because there was nothing to be seen.
very informative museum with lots to see. they have an interesting exhibit showing how the terracotta warriors looked when painted.
Muesums in China are wonderful because of rich exhibition items & free entrance for most venues. Suggest to go in once opening in the morning with good condition in enjoying all around. Variety of topics regarding ancient China can be found there. Picking as much as you can before tired …
This is an excellent museum, but be aware, as with many museums and galleries, it is closed Mondays. Entry is free, which means large crowds, so avoid weekends and public holidays. I am the sort of person who usually whips through museums quite quickly, however I have been to this one three times and I still find it fascinating.
it’s a nice museum, must visit if you are coming to Xi’an.
I love this place. I recommend it for every one!
