The Catholic Church at Wuxing Street

The Catholic Church of Five Star Street in Xi'an, known as the Main Church of St. Francis, was built in the 55th year of Kangxi (1716) and was built by Italian missionaries. The whole building combines the architectural art style of the East and West, sitting north to south, reflecting the Roman style of ancient brick and wood structure. The combination of Chinese and Western, the unique architectural style, is the key cultural relics protection unit of Shanxi Province.

Five Star Street Church is the main church of Xi'an Catholic Church. It is also called Five Star Street Church because it is located in Five Star Street in Xi'an. It was built in the Qing Kangxi period and has a history of more than 300 years. It is currently a provincial cultural relics protection unit.

The church is connected with the Roman style and the Chinese palace style, and is built with brick, wood, stone and other materials. The temple has both carved and murals, which are typical of the combination of Chinese and Western. The Sisters of Jesus' Sacred Heart in Xi'an are located here. This church is also called the Nantang.

The church was not open when I walked past. It is an interesting religious building that is it worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I haven't opened the door a few times, I can only take a few tourists photos outside the fence. The building is still very beautiful.
