Yanping Ancient Village

Xiamen Yanping's former base, Jimeizhai Site, is located on the seaside southeast of Jimei Town. It was built by the national hero Zheng Chenggong, according to Xiamen's period, and was built in the 14th year of Ming and Yongli (1660 AD).

Yanping's hometown is in Jimei Town. There is an ancient banyan tree in front. This is the ancient village when Zheng successfully guarded Jimei. Because Zheng Chenggong has a seal called Yanping County King, so in order to commemorate Zheng Chenggong, this ancient village site is called Yanping's hometown. The old base of Yanping we see is rebuilt by Mr. Chen Jiajun in 1953. This attraction carries a heavy history and can make people feel the national spirit, so it is also a good place for cultural education.

Yanping's hometown is located on the south side of Jimei Town, on the northeast side of Jimei Swimming Pool, under the ancient banyan tree in front of Yanping Building. It was the ancient Sei when Zheng successfully held Jimei, because Zheng Cheng was once named "Yanping County Lord" by the Ming emperor. In order to commemorate and play the patriotic spirit of the national hero Zheng Chengcheng, in May 1919, Mr. Chen Jiaxuan chose the site of "Guo surnamed Zhai" as the site of Jimei Elementary School. In 1922, a three-story building was built, named Yanping Building, and on the boulder next to the Shizhai Gate, the four words "Yanping Former Base" were engraved. Yanping Building was destroyed by Japanese artillery fire. In 1953, Mr. Chen Jiajun rebuilt Yanping Building and used the hillside to build three three-story 24-step granite as the grandstand of the seaside swimming pool, which was also named "Yanping Pool".
