The park had 2 sections, the first part includes a long wooden walk way eventually arriving at a cable car entrance. The cable car then takes you back to the park entrance. You may see elephants along the way however like zoos and other animal parks, I'd say its best to go when it's cooler so very early morning for more chance to see. Or ask the park when the most active time is for the elephants. We didn't see any at all when walking to the cable car. The cable car was expensive (2 per car, 50 Yuan each) and we waited for some time to use it but there is food nearby to keep you busy while you wait. I also believw that you can take the cable car up to the top and walk down if you prefer, it seemed to be quieter coming up than going down. The second part of our trip was the 'Research Centre' around 5km further away. We were able to see elephants up close and walk wirh them.

Incredible resort, feels like a new European city, fairly quiet at the moment which means more relaxed. Stunning views over the golf course from my room. Free bicycle hire, hot springs, I believe, are chargeable. The staff were all excellent here. The room was spacious, clean and well stocked. Mini bar prices were very reasonable. My only problem was the quality of food in the restaurant in the evening. It was very expensive for what it was. I wouldn't eat there again. Having said that, the breakfast was excellent, probably the best International breakfast I've had in China. Stayed for 2 nights which I could have stayed longer.

Quite small but beautiful space to spend an hour or 2 relaxing, taking photos with the pagodas, meeting halls etc. There's a small restaurant area where you buy nice ice cream, juices, coffee etc and then relax on the grass by the lake while locals take photos in traditional dress. Very clean, well presented park.

Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province is definitely one of the most unique and colorful destinations to travel in China. After spending fantastic time in Xishuangbanna in August, it was easy choice to choose Xmas holiday destination for this special time of the year. You get that forest feeling when you reach the end of the park using battery cars which transport you from feature to feature. The peacock show was brilliant with a short theatrical performance, music and dancing. The performers were great. Then the most peacocks you have ever seen descend on the platform. Brilliant. Then you can take a battery car (50Yuan for return) to a small village (mostly shops but some traditional clothing, tools etc), a waterfall, bridge etc. There is also a small 'zoo' (like a petting zoo). The elephants have a very small space and some of the animals seem in not very good condition. The monkeys were happy though. Then further on you can walk in the forest, goes in a circle, or pay extra to use the walkways high in the trees. There's also an aquarium at the park entrance. We'll worth a visit and you could spend a few hours there.

So very Thai. This place even had Thai 'Sois', an endless mine if intertwining streets full of small restaurants, tea shops, clothes shops, market stalls and of course, the famous night market.
