About Xuwen: Xuwen County is located in the southernmost part of mainland China, in the southwest of Guangdong Province. The county is known as “the starting port of the Silk Road’s sea trade during the Han Dynasty.” The local customs, housing, and dialect all bear a distinctive Leizhou culture. The county seat of Xuwen has always been the bustling market town of the Leizhou Peninsula’s southern economic and trade zone as it is along the route one must travel to get to Hainan Island. Some of the county’s famous attractions include Dahan Sandun (大汉三墩), Guisheng College, and Baisha Bay.
