It is not that far away from the samurai and merchant area and worth visiting if you have time.
Tenneiji Temple of the zen Soutou sect is located south east of the samurai residence area of Kakunodate. Here I need to talk briefly of the Ashina Family. The Ashina family was a prominent feudal lor...
It was a pretty big temple and the cherry blossoms were beautiful, but it was far from walking

I parked at the temporary parking lot at the entrance of Kakunodate on Route 341 from Morioka city and went sightseeing on foot, but I should have driven farther than what I saw on the map. It seemed that the city could drive by car except in the center. The temple was wider than I had imagined, and the Yoshino cherry blossoms and weeping cherry blossoms were in full bloom and beautiful. But we were the only tourists, and most of them were concentrated on the central Kasakura Festival. The principal image of the Soto sect is Shaka Muni Buddha. The 11th family head, Morinobu Ashina, invited Nohkatsu keido, a high priest in the Muromachi period, and opened the mountain ...
It is an old temple built in 1447 separated from Aizu Tenningji Temple, a little east of the cityscape of the samurai house, and is the family temple of the Ashina family. In the precincts, you can see that it is a temple related to the Ashina family, such as the mountain gate of the Edo period, the bronze Amida Nyorai cast for the memorial service of the fallen Chizuru Maru, and the tomb of the Ashina family 々. There seemed to be no tourists coming here, and I was able to take a quiet walk away from the crowds of the cityscape.
An old temple located between Kakunodate Station and the samurai residence. It is the family temple of the Ashina family, which was transferred from Aizu, and was built in 1624. The mountain gate is the remains of Kakunodate Castle.
The Aizu clan, the name of the Aizu clan, was defeated by date and was protected by the Satake clan in Hitachi, a relative of the relatives, but with the transfer of the Satake clan to dewa, he came to kakukan and became the family temple. It is recommended for those who are interested in Mr. Amina, but it is likely to be overlooked because it is a little off from the samurai residence area (although it is not a big distance). However, it may not be that disappointing just because I overlooked it. The atmosphere of the temple is calm and not bad.
