Located in a German-speaking portion of southern Switzerland, Zermatt is famous for its Alpine ski resorts and mountaineering. The town is surrounded by imposing mountain peaks, of which the Matterhorn is undoubtedly the most famous. Zermatt’s population, though small, is rather densely clustered given the limited usable land. Being heavily reliant on tourism, Zermatt is a friendly and welcoming destination whether you come for the skiing or just a chance to visit a true Alpine town.
doudourwDifferent routes, different times to see the scenery also has a difference, see the snow see the mountain, in the observatory to see the snow mountain far away, faint, is also a good choice. Skiing here is more fun.
SophiaTake the cable car to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, first get off at the 6-person small box Furi station, then transfer to a large box car to Trockenter Steg station and then transfer to another large box car to Matterhorn Glacier paradise, there are two year-round snow under the glacier paradise The difficulty is not too high for skiing, the viewing platform is 3889 meters above, and you can see the Alps in the Italian border. The round trip cable car costs 100 Swiss francs.
E12***38Switzerland is a romantic country, and the Matterhorn is the symbol of Switzerland.
It is located in the small town of Zermatt in Switzerland. After getting off the train, you can take a small mountain train from the visitor center opposite to Europe's first viewing platform ~ Gornergrat to see the spectacular Matterhorn.
_U2***24In the center of Zermatt, the museum is not very big, but it is worth a visit. The Swiss pass already includes the ticket. It will take about an hour or two to stroll. There are also videos introducing some history, which is more interesting
_U2***24It's very fun. There are many ice sculptures and a tunnel for sliding down. The best thing is that no one can take pictures slowly. There is a shape of the Chinese Year of the Pig and a squirrel ice sculpture from the Ice Age, which is very creative
d36***08The tallest building in Zermatt is the Catholic church at the end of Bahnhofstrasse. On the alpine train to the Matterhorn, when you look down at the town, the first thing you see is the green spire of the church.
Opposite the church is a small cemetery, where the martyrs who sacrificed to climb the Matterhorn are buried; on the small square in front of the church, there is an Alpine trombone more than 3 meters long, which can also reflect the customs of Switzerland~

fabulous Zermatt on a sunny day. amazing place with the Matterhorn, but then again there are other such great places here such as Arosa, Saas Fee, Klosters, Davos, Alp Grum and the list goes on. Not to mention lakes and forests Lugano Ascona Geneva and Neuchatel.
#triplocal Zermatt on a sunny day is pretty unbeatable unless of course you go to Saas Fee. Arosa, Lenzerheide, Crans or Klisters if course. or any if the other fantastic mountain tops we have here. Not to mention lakes and forests!
What an amazing views on the Swiss alps.
We went in the afternoon, it was nice and quit and the sky was more clear then in the morning, from the top we walked to the riffelsee, and took the train back from there to Zermatt.
Five lakes walk and zermatt is very famous among travelers. The village of Zermatt itself is lovely and car-free, with old-fashioned brown chalets and winding alleys. (Don’t worry, you don’t have to walk everywhere—there are electric vehicles and horse-drawn cabs.)I highly recommend this place!
If you are in the Zermatt area a visit to the stockhorn Peak and glacier paradise is a must .. The cable car trip from town to the top is a pleasant experience and once at the top .A must visit.Welcome to Switzerland to visit and enjoy pleasant views
Do you know Toblerone chocolate? I guest most ppl ate it before or heard of it. The mountain on the package is Matterhorn! I finally get to see it in real! I just live this place so much!
The only sad thing is I didn’t get to ski because you can only ski in the morning during the summer time! If you are interested in skiing in there during summer, remember to go in the morning!
Peaceful nights at the beautiful cozy village of Zermatt. One of my favorite things about photography is the ability it gives me to go back to moments like these!
