Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
ZhangJiaJie - City of Heaven
In Zhangjiajie, my adventure took an unexpected turn as dense fog draped the landscape, shrouding the towering peaks and mystical forests in an ethereal veil. The absence of the sun lent an air of mystery to the surroundings, transforming the experience into a journey through a surreal dreamscape.
As I ascended Tianmen Mountain via the cable car, the fog played tricks on perception, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The glass skywalk, normally revealing dizzying depths, now seemed to disappear into the mist, heightening the sense of adventure and discovery.
Exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park under the cloak of fog added an enigmatic charm to the iconic quartz-sandstone pillars. The pillars emerged like ancient sentinels from the mist, their silhouettes evoking a sense of timelessness. The Hallelujah Mountain, obscured yet majestic, seemed to float in a sea of clouds, creating an almost spiritual ambiance.
Navigating the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, the fog added an extra layer of challenge and allure. The glass bridge, now softened by the mist, transformed into a path suspended in the clouds, making each step a blend of excitement and trepidation. The snow on the mountain roads, while posing obstacles, added a pristine beauty to the rugged terrain.
Embracing the unexpected weather, I found solace in the serenity of the fog-laden landscapes. The absence of direct sunlight allowed me to appreciate the subtleties of Zhangjiajie's beauty, revealing a different side of its charm. The snow-dusted roads, though challenging, added a touch of winter magic to the journey.
As I descended from the misty heights of Zhangjiajie, the memories of a fog-kissed adventure lingered. The absence of the sun had transformed the landscapes into a poetic canvas, where nature's elements collaborated to create an experience both challenging and enchanting, leaving an indelible mark on my journey through this mesmerizing destination.#Zhangjiajie

We arrived at Zhangjiajie at more than 9 o'clock in the morning, how beautiful it is
Live picture to see how beautiful Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain is!!
We arrived at Zhangjiajie at more than 9 o'clock in the morning, the hotel we booked (Meiji Hotel, the environment is not bad) is just opposite Tianmen Mountain, it is very convenient to walk for five minutes, about 11:30 arrived at the queue place (the scenic area has road signs, it is easy to find) queue for more than half an hour can sit up and, the scenery along the way is very beautiful, you can enjoy about half an hour! Arrive at the top of the mountain, you can follow the signs all the way, enjoy the scenery along the way, feel the magic of nature~
Then take the 7-section mountain-crossing escalator to reach Tianmen Cave, looking down is simply beautiful (p1) We chose to hold the railing down 999 steps of the ladder (walking down is not as scary as imagined, but be sure to pay attention to safety and hold the railing down! You can also choose the convenient channel)
The way down the mountain is still a bit of a journey, continue to follow the signs to the place to ride (the scenery along the way is also super beautiful!) Didn't sit for a while and arrived, then continue to queue to take the shuttle bus down the mountain~ (There are really a lot of Koreans and Thais in Tianmen Mountain)
We bought the A route (it's really friendly for two people who don't usually exercise) 268 Glass plank road 5 (there will be staff to help take photos halfway through, choose whether to buy photos according to your own needs) Cableway heavy 25 (the cableway is on the side of Tianmen Mountain Temple, and it is different from the one that came up at the beginning, it is relatively exciting and fun!!!p7)10 Intestine 8 (there is a stage where food is bought, you can rest and listen to some tunes)
p15 Zhangjiajie's special three-pot is very delicious, highly recommended recommended recommended
Regret coming too late! This wave of rime is too fragrant!
It's not that Harbin can't afford to go, but the snow scene in Zhangjiajie is more cost-effective!
Some time ago, the rime of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie was super popular! Don't miss it again. It's getting cold again, come and see this wave of rime quickly! Feel the charm of the rime in the south!
It's so beautiful~ If you don't come, you will really regret it for a year! Come to Zhangjiajie to feel the rime

Grand Canyon Glass Bridge view
Location: Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China

Date: July 21, 2022
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge is the world's tallest and longest pedestrian glass bridge in China and worldwide. It’s about 430 meters long and 300 meters high.
It’s a must visit place if you like nature. The view is just stunning. When I was walking on the bridge I had lots of emotions. From the beginning I had a terrible fear, then this beautiful nature made me relax and calm down.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge Strolls
Ticking this enthralling experience off my bucket list has arguably been the highlight of all of 2022. Coming here took some planning & a lot of luck because that’s when lockdown was starting. Now. having the ordinarily packed bridge mostly to myself made this trip all the more worth it. I opted to cross bridge, zipline parallel to it then took a long slide on the side of the mountain to the bottom. I walked at the bottom of the valley to see the bridge I had crossed from below, & OMG!!! Took the outdoor elevator up to the bridge then crossed it back to my starting point.
I’d recommend you take your best travel buddies for this epic adventure!
I’m headed there again next year!
#nationalpark #glassbridge #grandcanyon
How brave are you to conquer the bridge?
You can find this thrilling experience in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. Conquer the worlds longest Glass Bridge at the Grand Canyon and if you dare, try bungy jumping off it too.
If you're scared of heights, there is a walking platform area on each side of the bridge pathway. If you're brave enough, walk in the centre on the bridge on the glass and experience your insides turning into jelly.
You have options of taking an elevator and slide down to the bottom of the mountain. Once you reach the bottom, I highly recommend you do the 5km valley walk. Best time for this is late afternoon. Less crowds and not as hot. At the end of the walk, you will experience a 500m boat ride to the exit.

Wulingyuan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Is there anyone who haven’t heard about Zhangjiajie Avatar mountains? I suppose not 😁 one the most famous and popular destinations in China.
Our trip started in Changsha where we stayed for half a day. Then by train we departed to Zhangjiajie. Railway station is not very far away from the scenery area, but we waited for taxi for quite some time as arrived late in the evening.
The mountains don’t need to be described too much. Amazing. It’s better to see once than hear a hundred times. So just go see it with your own eyes 😁
As expected, many people, but didn’t affect overall experience. Absolutely recommend to visit.
P.S. If you go to Zhangjiajie, there’s one more famous destination - Fenghuang village, not far away(about 1 hour by train) and a great place to go 👍#2023travelwish #mytripvlog #awesomepic #bucketlistreboot #zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie of Hunan
One of a-must-visit location in Hunan province, Zhangjiajie. A place where I felt being covered with mountains, forests, trees and fresh air whenever I climbed inside Wulingyuan (for 2 days). Try having hot coffee at the peak of the mountain under cold weather, you will love the taste. The only reminder to all, make sure to prepare all the covers and raincoat before heading to ZJJ. Cheers!

Friends who are preparing to go to Zhangjiajie, please look here
Travelers who are preparing to go to Zhangjiajie, please take 5 minutes to read this guide on how to travel independently in Zhangjiajie, and how to spend 5 days and 4 nights there, for reference.
Must-visit attractions in Zhangjiajie: Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, Phoenix Ancient City!
~~~Without further ado, let me share my itinerary for 5 days and 4 nights in Zhangjiajie!
Here is my detailed itinerary for 5 days and 4 nights in Zhangjiajie:
Day 1: Arrive in Zhangjiajie—Check into the hotel (it's quite late, so stay near the train station)
Day 2: 5A-level scenic spot Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park—Glass plank road—Tianmen Cave—Night view of Phoenix Ancient City
Day 3: Phoenix Ancient City—Morong Miao Village—Furong Town—Zhangjiajie
Day 4: Wulingyuan 5A-level scenic spot—Yuanjiajie—Mihun Terrace—Qiankun Column—Yangjiajie—Stay in Wulingyuan
Day 5: Ten-mile Gallery—Golden Whip Stream—Tusi City
To sum up this trip to Zhangjiajie, I had a lot of fun, the attractions are very rich, including the fairyland of Zhangjiajie and the cultural experience of Phoenix Ancient City.
🚉【About Transportation】
Zhangjiajie now has high-speed rail service. Those with better economic conditions can choose to fly. Those who want to save money or are relatively close can choose to take the train or bus. I chose to take the train from Guangdong.
🏨【About Accommodation】
The accommodation this time was very special. I stayed in the scenic area on the first night and saw a very beautiful sunrise. The second night I stayed in a guesthouse in Zhangjiajie city. On the third night, I stayed in Phoenix and saw the romantic night view of Phoenix Ancient City. It felt very special.
🖼【About Food】
People in Hunan love spicy food. Both Zhangjiajie and Phoenix are quite humid. If you don't eat spicy food, be sure to tell the restaurant. When you go to Zhangjiajie, you must try the three-pot dish and rice wine. In Phoenix, you must try the blood duck. The taste is very good, but be sure to choose a more authentic restaurant. There are also some snacks like Tujia bacon and sausage, Golden Whip Stream, and hairy chestnuts that are delicious.
【How to save money in Zhangjiajie】
1. Don't go to places you shouldn't go to, such as not going to restaurants where locals don't often go. The prices will be much cheaper and the food will be delicious.
2. Don't join a tour group at the departure place. For example, if I depart from Guangdong, I won't join a tour group in Guangdong, because Guangdong travel agencies will transfer to local agencies for reception. There is an extra link here, and the price will definitely be higher.
3. Book the hotel online in advance, it will be much cheaper.
4. Don't go to the hotels recommended by the touts or touting aunties at the airport or train station exits. That's a one-way street to being ripped off.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Location: Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China
Entrance fee: 128¥ (canyon + glass sky walk)
Date: July 21, 2022
The nature was so stunning in Grand Canyon. At the end of the Glass Bridge there’s a rock climbing place, I could climb only half of it (but for the first time, it was a good result, I’m very happy for that).
After passing the bridge we took an elevator, it was 30¥. Then slide way - 30¥ and a boat - 20¥. This helped us save more time, instead of using 1.5-2hours on the stairs, we passed it in just half an hour. After that we walked along the canyon and just admired the view.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Zhangjiajie. This place is surrounded with so much nature and fresh air that will make you feel recharged.
It is not an easy hiking so it is not recommended for people with weak knees. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes and some water, this site requires long walking around (2 to 3 hours). In case of getting exhausted is possible to find some places to sit down.
The water has such a beautiful greenish shade, I though the pics about this place were photoshopped but in person you will see those true beautiful colours.
