My 1-day trip to Saigon was a fantastic experience, and one of the highlights was visiting the Saigon Post Office. The post office is a beautiful colonial building that showcases the city's rich history and architectural beauty. Upon entering the post office, I was immediately struck by its grandeur and old-world charm. The interior is adorned with elegant French-inspired designs, from the high ceilings with ornate chandeliers to the intricate mosaic floor. One of the main attractions of the Saigon Post Office is the stunning central hall, which houses numerous counters for sending and receiving mail. The atmosphere was bustling with activity as locals and tourists alike went about their postal needs. It was fascinating to witness the efficiency and organized operation of this historic post office. I also had the opportunity to explore the many small shops within the post office, where I found a variety of unique souvenirs, stamps, and postcards to bring back home. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing me with recommendations and information about the post office's history. Overall, my 1-day trip to Saigon and the Saigon Post Office was a delightful experience. #timetotravel I am pleasantly surprised by the fact that the Vietnamese has turned an active post office (that is still in operation) into a tourist attraction where you can buy stamps, postcards and other souvenirs and mail it internationally. This is so smart!! I did some digging by the shop and managed to get two really cute stamp sets for 120,000 Dong each (~40 HKD each). I remember seeing it costs around 50,000 Dong (~17 HKD) to send a postcard internationally but do check with the counter if you intent to send a postcard. Located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city, Saigon Central Post Office has various type of postcards and souvenirs. Tourist can come here, pick their favorite postcards, write on them, and send immediately to all over the world through this post office. Many cute Vietnam souvenirs also available here. The most beautiful post office in the world, the reviews aren’t wrong. The building itself is incredible and there are so many details everywhere, I spent an hour just looking at the building. Then there are the gift shops and postal memorabilia, if you’re interested in stamps and coins this is a great spot for you. I sent my parents a postcard to keep up with a family tradition, wish you were here! The book street is right down the side of the post office so it’s a good spot to start an afternoon wander

Saigon Central Post Office, (or the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office), is a post office located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century. It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences. It was constructed between 1886 and 1891. Inside the Saigon Central Post office, two painted maps that were created just after the post office was built.The first one located on the left side of the building is a map of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia titled Lignes telegraphiques du Sud Vietnam et Cambodge 1892 ("Telegraphic lines of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia 1892"). The beautiful building of the Central Post Office is one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. Its construction began in 1886 according to the design of Gustave Eiffel himself. The spacious hall of the grandiose building is decorated with a mosaic depicting the former President of the country Ho Chi Minh opposite the main entrance, and on both sides you can see several painted maps of Vietnam. The Central Post Office, with its ornate vaulted ceiling, ornate tiled floor, and old-fashioned telephone booths, is still in operation today. There are even shops where you can buy postcards, stamps and other souvenirs.
