I have visited this hotel before the recent renovation and would like to know about these changes. I am very surprised! I really like the open concept of front desk, bar, restaurant and its decoration. I emphasized the changes made to the room: decoration, comfort and extra facilities (tea, coffee, champagne and minibar). I like the swimming pool built on the terrace and surrounding area. The breakfast is great and I like the idea of the dinner menu. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Congratulations! ! ! 💖

Generally a good choice in Porto Moniz. Location is great and if you have a sea facing room, the views are lovely. The hotel is clean, tidy, neutrally but quite tastefully decorated and has many plus points. There is an ‘honesty ‘ bar on the roof terrace which is peaceful and quiet - a rather under utilised area by the hotel I think. I found the bed agonisingly hard and agree with other reviews that the shower (which was good) ran hot and cold rather unpredictably. There is currently no air conditioning although you can open the windows and balcony doors. Apparently they are installing air con next year. Definitely a good place to stay.

We never stayed in the hotel, so can't comment on that. However my sisters snd I wanted a coffee. We went upstairs as wanted to be inside, rather than out. We went to the counter and was rudely told to sit down, counter was only for paying. We saw a young guy, who was waiting on tables. We asked him where we could sit, stating quite clearly that we only wanted coffee. We sat where HE TOLD US TO. After around 15 mins an old guy came up with menus, we again stated that we only wanted coffee, not something to eat. He was extremely rude to us. Told us in no uncertain terms to, basically piss off and if we wanted coffee to go downstairs and sit outside. We told our tour guide, who directed us elsewhere, where we were made very welcome.

Amazing location! Right beside the lava pools and in a central location. Staff were lovely and friendly. We stayed as part of our honeymoon and we were provided with a welcome drink, a bottle of champagne in the room and our bed beautifully decorated with swans and rose petals which was so kind. We had an amazing cliff view from our balcony. Rooms were bright and clean with a comfy bed. Breakfast tasty. Thank you for our lovely time here will definitely come again.
