Highly recommend.
It was wonderful to see these carvings. The hike was not bad at all. There is a beautiful cemetery along the way too. It almost takes up the whole side of the mountain.
These are the thirty three "Magaibutsu Kannon group" that had been dug on the east side of the hillside of Mt. Shinobu in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. There are more than 60 Jizo and Fudo...
More than 60 cliff Buddhas at the foot of Mt. Nobuo
Original Text
It looks like a small Kannon at the foot of Mt. Nobuo, one of the cherry blossom viewing spots in Fukushima City, but more than 60 cliff Buddhas are carved beside the Kannon-do. The surrounding area is a residential area and is not a remote place, so it may be a rather surprising location. If you are a bus, it is close to getting off at the bus stop called "Iwatanishita" from Fukushima City Station. If the weather is nice, it will take less than 30 minutes for a shared cycle. It's small but there is a parking lot, so you can access it by car. Instead of going here alone, Nobuo ...
It is a group of stone Buddhas dug in a rock at the foot of Mt. Nobuo. I used a fixed-route bus to Fukushima Racecourse and accessed it on foot from there. The Kannon-do at the end of the stone steps and the stone Buddha group are quite powerful. You can also access the observatory of Mt. Nobuo from here, so I think it's a good idea to visit with a little trekking feeling.
I didn't expect it because it was only on the 1 book of the guidebook that I had at hand, and it was also a small article in the column, but I was very satisfied personally. The group of cliff Buddhas engraved on the cliff was wonderful. I think it's a good place to become more major.
Highly recommend.
