Elba Island

Elba is an island in the western waters of Tuscany in central Italy. It is the third largest island in Italy, after Sicily and Sardinia. The scenery on the island is beautiful, it is worth seeing, especially beautiful, the sea is clear and transparent!

Napoleon was exiled to Elba, where he lived, called the "Tiegang Town". After the anti-French forces entered Paris in March 1814, Napoleon was forced to abdicate and escorted to the town of "Tiegang" by British ships at 6.30pm on May 3, 1814. The accompanying man was his mother, his sister Polina and some of the entourage, and when he made the boat landing, all local officials on the island of Elba went to greet him and handed him the keys to the town for the sincerity of welcoming. The local people also warmly welcomed Napoleon's arrival, which made the previously unknown island of Elba the center of attention throughout Europe. Napoleon chose the "mill" villa at the highest point of the town of Tiegang as his and his family's residence. The villa was built in 1724 by Florence's local ruler, Medici. Napoleon brought in carpenters, masons, painters and decorators from France to renovate it into a veritable villa "palace", living in comfort and safety. He arranged his living room, library, bedroom, etc. on the first floor, so that his sister and mother lived upstairs.
