When Emperor Qin Shi Huang was on his eastern tour, he passed by the seaside of Beidaihe and encountered a mountain blocking his way. Qin Shi Huang used his whip to drive away the mountain god, causing the mountain to crumble and the debris to fly to the seaside, transforming into a group of colorful tigers. Qin Shi Huang chased after them to the seaside, where the tigers knelt down and begged for mercy. Qin Shi Huang then turned them into reef stones, forever leaving them on this beach. It is because of these reef stones that resemble a group of tigers that the Tiger Stone got its name. 🍏 Tiger Stone Park is well-known, with a superior geographical location and many Russian-style buildings nearby. Being there gives a feeling of exoticism. The beach has a gentle slope into the sea and the water quality is good, making it a must-visit spot for many tourists, especially in the summer when it is crowded with visitors. 🍏 In winter, come to Tiger Stone Park to watch the sea. Although the crowds have dispersed, there are only a few tourists, which makes Tiger Stone Park more peaceful and vast. Standing on the reef, looking out to the sea, only the sky and sea are connected, without boundaries. The sea water beats against the reef on the shore, creating white waves. The sun shines on the sea surface, and the waves sparkle like shining broken silver. Everything is so beautiful. You can go to see the sunrise in the morning. It is one of the four major scenic spots of Beidaihe in Qinhuangdao City, with rocks, wetlands, lush trees, and abundant grass. It's an ideal habitat for birds and a world-class bird-watching destination, known as the 'Mecca of Bird Watching'. 🌟Jinmeng Bay A free beach often visited by locals, with a long coastline, clean golden sand, and sea views that are no less than those of paid scenic spots. Just watching the sea is enough, and there are also many photogenic spots around, like the Tiffany blue KFC, the coffee shop and gift shop of the Sino-Swiss Design Port. 🌟Qinhuang Alley A famous snack street! A wide variety of food and good taste! Compared to other snack streets, it's more expensive, but the hygiene is better. 🌟Biluo Tower Park: The northern little Santorini, one of the internet-famous spots, where you can feel the freshness of the sea and the warmth of the sun. Super easy guide to watching the sunrise at Beidaihe in Qinhuangdao! ||| Working in Beijing, I impulsively decided to go to Beidaihe to watch the sunrise, and here's a travel guide you can copy~ 🏠 Before going, I saw that Tiger Stone Park was a good spot for sunrise, so I chose a hotel nearby. After arriving, I found that the area was full of hotels, and since it's the off-season, prices are generally between 100-200. 🌅 The hotels in the vicinity are just a few minutes' walk from Tiger Stone Park, but around six o'clock the park gates are still closed, and everyone climbs over the gate to get in (uh...). Make sure to check the sunrise time in advance, and after watching it, you can go back to sleep, which is super comfortable. 🏞️ Actually, besides the beach, there aren't many fun places in Beidaihe, and many shops are closed during the off-season. However, the city's architecture is very European, so you can stroll around in the afternoon, take pictures, enjoy the breeze by the sea, and watch the sunset right here in the evening! Yes, you can see both sunrise and sunset here! 🍜 There are many seafood restaurants locally, but as someone from inland, I don't like seafood so I didn't try it. The night market closest to Tiger Stone is called Qinhuang Alley, which has a lot of food, and you can take a taxi there, buy food, and bring it back to the hotel to eat. 🚃 For the train station, choose Beidaihe Station (not Qinhuangdao Station), which is closer to Tiger Stone Park. It takes over three hours from Beijing to Beidaihe on a green train, with tickets around 45. My ticket was on standby, and it felt pretty easy to get. 🚗 Local taxis are quite expensive, and taxi fares accounted for one-third of our total expenses. I suggest you take a look at public transportation. 🛝 In the afternoon, we also went to Pigeon Nest Park, which has an entrance fee of 35. I thought we could watch the sunset there, but after arriving, I realized we couldn't see it at all; the whole sea faces east! The sun sets behind us... But it's still pretty good for taking pictures! 🤔 Other: There are a lot of people trying to get you to go on a boat tour, we ignored them. There are lion dance folk performances at the entrance, and there are various small shops inside, a lot of food, and the cost performance is very high, highly recommended~ The night market where locals will also go. ▪Fifth stop: Golden Dream Bay It is recommended to live near Golden Dream Bay, and the homestays can basically see the sea, about 500m from the beach. Go for a walk on the beach at night, and it's not cold in winter. Couples walk on the beach, children set off fireworks, it's too romantic. DAY2⃣Watch the sunrise-Dongshan Bathing Beach to pick up shells-Qinhuangdao Museum ▪Sixth stop: Watch the sunrise at Golden Dream Bay The balcony of the apartment where I live can see the sunrise, but I still got up early and ran to the beach to see it~ It's so beautiful! The only shortcoming of Golden Dream Bay is that the sunrise is not due east, and there will be some building backgrounds, which I personally feel does not affect at all. You can also choose to watch the sunrise at Pigeon Nest (35 yuan/person for tickets) or any beach. ▪7th stop: Dongshan Bathing Beach Dongshan Bathing Beach (Navigation Haitian Yise Hotel), I personally think this is a very nice place to see the sea in Qinhuangdao!
