Living museum with climbing walls for kids and adults and you can get a course

The building is massive in four floors, but content wise there is not so much to see, it's more like a working museum for people who wants to go climbing in the mountains. They have training courses, ...

Wish had the same in Chamonix!

We had a rainy day and decided, after a visit of the lighthouse to continue our journey toward this museum. The kids were invited to climb on the walls, which was great and Henry was of great support...

A mountain museum that looks good like Sokcho City Museum

    Original Text

A museum built by the Forest Office to illuminate the history and culture of mountaineering in Korea. There are permanent exhibitions on climbing history, mountain figures, and mountain culture, and various experience classes for children and teenagers are also prepared. Because it is a national museum, it is free and has many attractions compared to its scale. It is near the Sokcho Municipal Museum, so it is good to see it together.

Even if you're not a mountain climber, it's worth a light look around.

    Original Text

First of all, admission is free! There is plenty of parking lot, and if you go up to the top floor, you can also take pictures with a free telescope overlooking Mt. Seorak. Inside, the history of mountaineering, the mountaineering supplies donated by famous mountaineers or collected in the museum are displayed, and visitors can experience rock climbing.

    Children will love it.

    Original Text

Although there is not much content to see on the exhibition, the space to experience is very good, so children like it very much. If you want to be able to climb rock walls or experience alpine mountains, you can be more than 120 cm tall, but in fact, you can only enjoy activities in the third grade of elementary school.
