In June 1982, according to the overall plan of Taihu Scenic Area, the Wuxi Municipal People's Government decided to assign the Shantouyu Brigade to the park, the park range from Baojie Bridge to Shantouyu, the total area reached 3.01 square kilometers, and implemented a unified planning and construction, and collectively referred to as "the scenic spot of the district". According to the plan, there are 16 attractions in the "Tou District Shengjing". It is planned to build in stages and gradually implement it. In the same year, the 72nd Peak Mountain Hall was opened as the Wang Kunlun Memorial Hall, and was listed as a municipal cultural relics protection unit. The new gate of the park was moved to Chongshan, and the new and old scenic spots in Shantouyu Park were synthesized, and the tour area was expanded to 1.30 square kilometers. The original greening of the park is better, the hill pine, scorpion, bayberry and other secondary mixed forests grow lush, Hengyun Mountain Villa with the first leaf flowering Japanese mountain cherry as the characteristics, Changchun Bridge cherry blossoms are still more famous attractions. [14] After 1980, after unified planning and layout, and large-scale expansion of new attractions, Shantouyu Scenic Area expanded to 5 square kilometers, becoming the largest landscape garden and comprehensive, multi-functional scenic resort in Jiangnan. [6] In 1988, the China-Japan Sakura Friendship Forest was built, with an area of nearly 0.03 square kilometers, more than 1,500 cherry blossoms, and the China-Japan Friendship Stele Pavilion was built. The funds were collected by the National Implementation Committee of the Japan Sakura Friendship Forest, and a large number of Japanese tourists came every year.

Taihu is well-deserved. The lake and mountains are indeed worth a visit. This time I went by car. I heard people say that I have to go to the scenic spot as soon as possible. Otherwise, there is no place to park. If you are late, you can only park in a far place and take the bus to enter the scenic spot. In short, it feels good.

Wuxi Shantouyu Scenic Area is worthy of being a world-class cherry-watching resort. The cherry blossoms in the cherry blossom valley are full of mountains and fields. The surrounding area of Changchun Bridge is a great place to enjoy flowers, especially the night cherry blossoms at night under the lights. Just take the shuttle bus out of the scenic spot at night. There are very, very many people, but there is the management of the service staff. It is worth going. It is recommended not to take a battery car to enter the gate of the mountain. Otherwise, you will miss a lot of scenery. You will walk all the way to the pier. There are different scenery in different seasons along the way.
