Unique experience and landscapes
Underground wonders: This medieval salt mine (mined from 1075 to 19321) has been transformed into the "coolest underground landscape" that combines a museum, amusement park and sanatorium1. The mine is divided into two levels, with a golf course, theater and sports field on the upper level, and a Ferris wheel (65 feet high), underground lake boating (rental for 3 euros1) and an arena on the lower level12.
Sci-fi atmosphere: Stalactites, deep tunnels and preserved mining equipment (such as wooden extractors1) create a movie-like scene, and a panoramic elevator offers a panoramic view of the mine34.
Health care: The slightly salty air with a constant temperature of 11°C and 80% humidity is good for the lungs, and some residents even use treadmills to exercise here24.

Drive or take a taxi from Cluj (40 minutes); or take a bus to Turda (45 minutes, 15 lei), and then take a taxi to the salt mine34.

You need to bring a coat in summer34; there is no restaurant in the mine, it is recommended to bring your own snacks4.
