Adapted and performed by the exceptionally talented Nezaket Erden, this powerful play is based on Latife Tekin's monumental novel and will be presented in Turkish.
Sevgili Arsiz Olum - Dirmit transports the audience to the world of Dirmit, a young girl growing up in Türkiye, facing numerous hardships and societal pressures. This dreamy and hallucinatory story delves into themes of feminism, equal opportunities, and the challenges of being a girl child in Türkiye. It marks a significant milestone in Turkish fiction and offers profound insights into these important topics.
Following the play, there will be a 30-minute panel discussion featuring Nezaket Erden, Sinem Hun (Senior Gender Consultant), and Nilufer Atalay (Trustee of Turkey Mozaik Foundation). The panel will be hosted by Nilufer Atalay, providing an opportunity for a deeper exploration of the play's themes and issues surrounding gender equality.
Sinem Hun, founder and CEO of Genderscope, brings over 12 years of experience in gender consulting and specializes in anti-discrimination law, protecting vulnerable groups, and workplace gender mainstreaming. With an impressive background and extensive project leadership across various regions, Sinem is a leading expert in her field.
Nezaket Erden, born in Mersin in 1990, is a highly talented performer and the recipient of numerous awards. She gained recognition for her adaptation of Latife Tekin's novel Sevgili Arsiz Olum - Dirmit into a solo play and co-founded the theatre group Tiyatro Hemhâl. Her remarkable acting skills have earned her accolades, including the Best Supporting Actress award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
