Immerse yourself in the captivating world of traditional Japanese painting techniques at the Japanese Painting Workshop - Christmas edition. Unleash your creativity and explore new artistic methods in this engaging and enjoyable workshop. Led by a skilled local artist, participants will learn the intricate art of painting using authentic materials such as bamboo brushes, sumi ink, Gansai Tambi (Traditional Japanese colors), and gold leaves on rice paper board.
During this workshop, attendees will have the option to paint on either a Silk Fan or a Rice Paper board. Please note that tickets for this workshop are limited due to reduced capacity, so early booking is recommended. Drawing inspiration from various Japanese art movements like Ukiyo-e and Rinpa School, participants will have access to a carefully curated selection of Christmas and winter-themed references.
In this class, you will discover how to paint enchanting winter scenes, using a palette of delicate shades of white along with vibrant Christmas red and green. Whether you are a beginner or have some artistic experience, this workshop welcomes artists of all levels. Your knowledgeable instructor will be on hand to offer guidance and answer any queries as you create your magnificent masterpiece.

The Japanese Painting Workshop - Christmas edition will take place at GRUB, a food hall and event space located in Cheetham Hill, Manchester. Enjoy the convenience of food and drink options available for purchase before, during, and after the workshop. All necessary materials, including Sumi ink, Gansai Tambi (Traditional Japanese colors), and rice paper boards, will be provided for each participant. Protective equipment, such as aprons, will also be available.
