Music, like the stars shining in the night sky, can always touch the soul inadvertently. This year, the Macau International Music Festival takes "Starry Night" as its theme, inviting top musicians and orchestras from all over the world to gather together to create a dazzling music feast.
Looking up at the night sky, the stars are shining, as if there are countless stories. Puccini's opera masterpiece "Tosca" has beautiful and moving arias such as "For Art, For Love" and "Tonight is Starry", which have been passed down for a hundred years and their charm has not diminished. Russia's Mariinsky Theater will open this music festival with this immortal classic and light up the starry sky.
The stars are shining and dazzling; the superstars are gathered and the light is brilliant. Jazz king Wynton. Wynton Marsalis will come to Macao for the first time and lead the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to perform passionately, bringing music fans an extremely shocking music experience. Many performers who are loved by music fans have returned one after another. Leonidas Kavakos, "a real violinist in the eyes of violinists", will display his superb skills to interpret immortal music; the charming pianist Hélène Grimaud will perform classical music classics with the Salzburg Chamber Orchestra; the stylish pianist Ivo Pogorelich will lead music fans to appreciate the magnificent music of the Romantic period. Herbie Hancock, a jazz piano master and winner of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, will also return to Macao soon, and his passionate performance will make people look forward to it.
As an important cultural festival in Macau, the Macau International Music Festival has always been committed to presenting high-quality and diversified performances. The Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra played Russian music in two consecutive symphonies; friends Kayhan Kalhor, Wu Man and Sandeep Das gathered to bring a cross-cultural music feast with instruments of different ethnic styles; Portuguese Fado Queen Mariza performed with the Macau Chinese Orchestra, reflecting the fine tradition of harmonious integration of Chinese and Portuguese cultures in Macau; the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center was praised by the media as "a shining star in the musical sky", and two consecutive performances detailed the musical treasures.
In this dazzling music feast, pianist Alexandra also performed. The multimedia show "The Nutcracker and I" created by Alexandra Dariescu combines piano, ballet and animated images to reinterpret the dreamlike and interesting story of children. The wonderful performance is dazzling. In addition, the music festival has been creating a shining sky for local music stars through "Art Elite". Many winners of the Macau Youth Music Competition will perform on stage and perform with local professional orchestra musicians, shining the musical brilliance of the new generation.
